Hi i am an experienced drywaller. spend 4 years in steel framing and drywalling. I just want to start my drywall installation company. Can somebody please teach me how to give estimates.I have a job to do. dont know how to give estimates of ceiling, bulkhead ,windows and walls.I shall be thankful for this.
Charge 20 or 25 dollars a sheet
Count what's needed and make an estimate
To get your total area multiple 3.5 by floor area you get the
Total walls and ceiling area then you check the Rate going in your area for drywall hanging as subcontractors they used to charge 30 cent/sqf 2020 not sure what is the rate these days in Ottawa
For home owners it's usually double if your getting the job directly.
Just labor no material included.
For bullket you can price by linear feet or each one by it self start from 35
For windows you can charge 7 per square feet
Also if your pricing something for homeowner it's always recommended you go on site and give him a price on what you see and measure and try to close the deal with him before you leave.
I hope I helped you
Have a wonderful day.
The going "min." rate for a complete drywall job - (drywall installed and taped) is from $3.75/sqft. all inclusive with materials and everything else: corners/bulkheads etc. they are not that much extra work but some subs like to break it all out. You figure out sq/ft of walls by going width + length x (2) x height of each room, then for ceiling it is just length x width. If you are texturing the ceiling then add cost of your subcontractor usually from $1/sqft + what you want for a mark-up usually a few hundred bucks.
Hey!
Drywall quotes are by the sq ft, don't forget about mud/tape. So whatever you quote to hang drywall, double it in order to account for the rest
For framing - you'll have to guess how long its going to take you, add a couple extra frustration hours to it to be safe, then add in your material costs + mark up if you choose to do that.
If you're hanging the doors too, dont forget about that.
