How do i remove scratches and stains on new hardwood floor?
Depending on the level of damage and the finish of the flooring, there are a few options. If you have an extra piece left over from the installation you can go get colour matched stain made to touch up the spots. This will make them less noticeable but ultimately if the damage is extreme then the only fix would be to refinish the floor so it all blends and will be new throughout.
The only way I know is to, sand the stains or scratches until they are not visibe an place varnish to that same surface, around 3-4 coats until surface is leveled.
Could use brush or spray gun, to apply varnish.
Hope it helps! Let me know if you need anything else.
If it's just the one room...sand and refinish. In the end it will take a little more time, money & effort but well worth it. As opposed to spot repairing and likely ending up with an inconsistent finish.
Hi Paresh. For light, surface scratches, try Liquid Gold. It is a miracle product. It won't get rid of scratches, but you will not notice them. For deeper scratches or light gouges, lepage makes various colours of wood putty for filling. fill gouge and let dry, then use fine sanding paper . you can tape off area being sanded so you protect wood surrounding damaged area. Once dried and sanded, stain the filler, still protected with tape (frog tape recommended). If floor is badly scratched and runs across several boards, board replacement might be necessary. I would hire a professional to replace boards. stain pencils are also very handy and come in many colors (not the wax ones). Windsor Plywood has everything you need to fix these problems and expert advice. there are also many products for removing stains. if you have a stain problem that can't be fixed with those products, board replacement might be your only option. yours truly, Dave's Flooring.
