New asphalt chippining away

Good day,

I had a reputable contractor installing a new asphalt driveway last summer. I had some concerns after the installation and I would like to know whether this sort of thing is normal, and if not, what could be the cause.

First I noticed 1 small volcano where there seem to be something growing throughout. Then I noticed a lot of white dots all over the asphalt, when I looked closer it looks like stone chips. Lastly, there are some cracks along the edging.

At this point, what are my options? Can this sort of thing be fixed? Or it requires a re installation? The contractor is aware, but no response from him for months.
