I am getting into tiling. I did my first job at a friend's duplex and I've learned a lot in that one job. I was asked to tile a bathroom bathtub wall and I'm stumped in coming up with a quote. Hence why I joined this lovely community of trades people.
I added the sq ft : 52 sq ft. The homeowner will buy the tiles.
Thanks in advance!
Pros charge from $6-8/sqft for basic ceramic. Most Tub surrounds to ceilings are about 90 sq/ft so about $720. + all materials. A pro can tile a shower 6-8 hrs. & the thin-set mortar has to dry 24hrs then grout would take about a hour-two. If I were you, I would go work for a pro for awhile to learn the trade. Tile is a real skill & needs specialized equipment$$$ to do it right. I have seen too many hack jobs by amateurs. If you get a unhappy client, you will be ripping it all out and paying them to work for.
Thanks for your reply. Solid advice.
