We've got stucco that's craking and warping on our extention. We've seen several potential methods of repairing it, including fixing the cracks, paiting it with special paint, replacing it with and covering it with siding. My preferred approach would be to improve the insulation qualities if possible - reduce heat loss. Certainly nobody seems to like working with stucco any anymore. Any suggestions on the best approach.
John,
If you wish to increase the R value in your walls and fix the stuco, perhaps you should add another, fresh layer of stucco, using the latex over styrofoam method. If you add 2" of better quality styrofoam
You can add another 10 R value to your home, which is just a bit less than the R value from most pink fiberglass batts in a 2X4 wall.
Best of luck
