Should I install a torched on membrane on low slope roof?

I have a low slope roof 3 to 12. There has been a lot of ice dammng in the winter. I am getting the insulation and ventilation improved so this should improve the ice formation. But I have had inspectors and engineers say the torched on membrane is good for these type of roofs.

The contractor I have is saying they are ugly and will not look that good on a residential roof.

Should I install a torched on membrane? If I do will it look ugly on my bungalow?

You can use water shield on top of the ply and then shingles on to of the water shield and that will cover for the OBC.

In BC any roof that is 3/12 needs to be torch on. If the guy does it right it would look good. My roof looks great because I did a good job.

Good luck
