I have had a tree fall on my house. I am almost positive that the trusses have been broken. What type of contractor would repair this kind of damage?
GENERAL CONTRACTOR OR RECOGNIZED CARPENTRY FIRM . GET REFERENCES AND 3 QUOTES . CONTACT SGI
1. Call a carpenter
2. Call a structural engineer to sign off it.
I would first recommend contacting your insurance for a damage assessment and to see if it's worth putting in a claim. An engineers report(generally costs around $600.00) would tell you a course of action for what needs to be done whether you have to fix, replace or simply brace your trusses. If it is simple bracing, sheeting repair and fixing some damaged shingles then our roofing company would be able to help you! If it is a little more severe I would recommend you contact a general contractor with a journeyman ticket in carpentry.
