I had my windows redone and they left it with holes in the wall around the windows. I was wondering if they are supposed to fix it?
Exterior walls hell yes.
Interior, depends. Typically if they made holes being careless then of course. In the case of old plaster walls most window companies will tell you they will make every effort to save the walls but sometimes its simply too crumbly to save.in this case its typically an upcharge to fix, if they do it at all.
I'll put it this way, I just finished a window retrofit that had me remove old windows and wall framing, reframe windows to fit new ones, and then redo the trim inside and out. It's done now, and I didn't leave any holes around the windows.
A good contractor won't simply walk away leaving the job looking unfinished whether it is an upcharge or not. They'll talk to you and see how you want to proceed.
Were I you, I'd be contacting them back to request the return to finish the job.
