Flat Roof Repair

Hi there,

I have a flat roof with rubber membrane on it. It has a small leak somewhere near the house. Seems like maybe the flashing is coming off a bit, but there is a floating deck built on top of the roof. I am looking to make sure the leak is fixed, then should I just tar the crap out if it? I would like to put a deck back on. Whats the best way to build a deck on a flat roof?

PS - Lots of leaves get stuck under the current deck and become moldy and hold moister.

Greeting to you,

My name is Andreas Pirelli, from CPC Universal Group of Calgary, as I've working for more than 20 years in the trade, I also acquire experience being the adjuster for an Insurance company in Montreal for more than 5 years. You should first of all consider evaluating your roof structure first, then make all necessary changes to be able to support this new deck. Using an engineer in home structures will help put your project at ease. Once all of this is done, the next thing will to have plate installed on your roofing to have this extra weight spread out on your roof. The engineer should be able to have structural advise for doing so.

Sincerely

Andreas Pirelli
