I live in a condo and used my dishwasher in the evening and it leaked overnight causing quite a bit of damage to laminate floors. The buckling of the planks around the dishwasher can be felt and seen. I am trying to find out if the planks can be replaced and what it would approximately cost.

Hi,

The problem with laminate flooring is that you can't just repair on or two planks,

You have to replace the whole area that got effected.

What is the approximate square footage of the area?

Good day

There is a lot of variables when dealing with this situation depending upon how far the water has traveled and how long before you get air movement under it is the most significant thing the quality of the laminate and also if they installed the proper condo rated vapor barrier if you would like to email me I would be more then happy to give you some advice and information so that what ever you choose to do or whomever you choose to go with you have some knowledge take care

Hi,

It looks like your laminate flooring "cupped" after absorbing moisture. Laminate flooring and underlayment should be removed as soon as possible and drying requirement (fan) installed to avoid any potential mould growth. We are specializing in these kind of repairs. Please reach out for free advise/estimate

Thank you

The area is maybe 100-150 sq feet so it's not just a few planks.

Not hard but you need matching new planks and several rows dissembled then new installed, small job and labor intensive no one will really want so expect from at least $800 + materials. You might be looking at added cost to remove and replace any base or trim on cabinets/walls to re-install. I typically do not recommend laminate or hardwood floors to my Clients in kitchens with dishwashers. Usually I do not install the flooring under dishwashers either but stop at the front and push it into cavity, that way big leaks wont absorb into flooring but go in sub floor. There are some products more resistant you can use but this is a common problem in this area.
