I have some popcorn ceilings that I would like removed and flat ceilings installed. How much would it cost for a 2000 sqft condo removal of popcorn and installation of flat?
Depending on the age of the condo- this is something you could do yourself, Craig. Try a test area first- run your finger or scraper over the popcorn - if it falls easily the ceiling has never been painted. You should then be able to use a spray bottle of water to moisten - not soak, the popcorn. Give it a minute, then, using a 4 or 5 inch scraper, remove the popcorn. Even if the ceiling has been painted at least once, you should still be able to scrape it. Once scraped, use a pole sander to smooth things over, then 2 coats ceiling paint & you are done.
If you are not up to this task, most painting companies would be able to help - it should run much cheaper than replacement.
Good luck
