1 1/2 storey house built in 1916. We're hoping to increase the 1/2 storey to a full storey (3 bedrooms + 1 bathroom). The yard is quite large, so we would settle for an addition to the main storey if it is more cost effective.
1/2 storey is quite short (remodeled attic), has no duct work, very poor electrical. One basement beam was cut through at numerous points when we purchased house - it is currently stable but would probably not support full 2nd storey. Electrical box is almost full.
Currently live in old st vital in a one and a half story house. We were interesting in expanding the 2nd story into a complete floor. Currently there is 2 bedrooms, would like to add a third bedroom and a bathroom up there. We wouldn't be able to do this for another year, would love to have some idea of cost.
I am going to be adding a 576 sq ft addition onto my 3 bedroom bungalow. It will be a 18x13 bedroom, 12x5 bathroom,& a 13x13 great room. This will include removal of the exterior wall from the great room into the existing kitchen. Also a exterior door will be sealed. There is a new 26x24' garage to be built behind the existing one.
I am looking for 2 quotes for the above, 1) all inclusive & 2) without garage pad and Grade beam.
Please include leadtime to start the project.
We would like to add a 12ft (w) x 42ft (l) 2-car tandem attached garage to the side of the house leaving 6.9ft to the property line. The 42ft side will share the wall with the exiting house. We would like to have a door at the back of the garage, exiting into the backyard. 2 windows on the other 42ft wall, and 2 skylights (optional).
There are a bush and a big tree to be removed. Our driveway already have concrete. This is to be built at the end of the existing driveway.
We are located in transcona, Winnipeg. The house is a two storey, 1400 squar foot house with a small storage basement right now. The house was built in 1912. We would like to put in a full basement under the existing house, wouldn't need to be a finished project, just want it to be dug out and framed. We are looking to have in starting the last week of June 2012. We are going on a trip during that time and would like to come back when it is completed. We would keep a phone with us at all times so if you needed to get a hold of us that would be possible. I don't know what else to say.
I would like to build an additional second floor on a home I am looking to purchase. The house is 526 sq/ft built in 1907 however it looks like a relatively strong foundation. I would like to add 2 bedrooms upstairs totalling around 300 sq/ft.
I'm not fussy in terms of materials as long as the job is done well and safe.
I am curious to know a quote for the renovations
Looking at an addition to our 1950's bungalow. Addition would be located off of the back of the house and adjoined to the kitchen.
Plans are to include open concept kitchen and dining space, as well as master bedroom with bathroom and walk in closet. Crawl Space foundation.
Would also be required to refinish the outside of the house.
Attached is a rough sketch of potential project, with the grey area being the addition and blue the existing house layout. Each square is 1 foot x 1 foot, however measurements aren't 100% accurate. Open to suggestions for layout, particularly if a way to reduce the awkwardness of having the master off of the dining area.
We own a 1080 sq ft bungalow in the Crescentwood area. We are interested in an addition and garage on the back of our house. This would be to expand the kitchen, add a dining room, a mud room off of the garage with main floor laundry. We are open to suggestions on the best lay out to gain the most space.
Currently we have an excavated hole. We are looking to put a foundation in for a 2 story addition. Excavated hole was not done professionally so some grading may need to be done.
The dimensions for the basement are 20ft x 30ft with 8 ft walls. What we need is a price just for footings and a price for footings and walls. The shape is simple it is just a rectangle
We have some major work to be done to our house. It can be completed in stages or all at once. We are hoping to remain in house during construction, but this is flexible. House is a 1 1/2 story, 1200 sq ft, 4 bdrm (2 up, 2 main fl) upper level approx650 sq ft with full 3 pcs bath, main level 2 bedrm, 1 used as dining, livingrm, kitchen, full 4 pcs bath approx 850 sq ft. Basement fully developed except for ceiling remains open.
1. Not sure how large of an addition but would like to expand back and side of the house to increase main floor space. We may even look at extending addition to second floor to increase sq ft also.
2. We would like to make house an open concept house with kitchen/ eating area/ living room/main floor laundry/powder room/ master bedroom w ensuite and walk in closet. Back landing door entrance needs to be expanded to allow for more space and a closet.
3. If addition only remains on main level then we want to move walls and bathroom on second floor to increase sq footage, add closet space, put in a laundry shoot to main flr laundry. and add duct work to this level, as it is currently base board heat.
4. During this process we need to install central air, possibly central vac, new windows doors, walls, ducts, bathroom fixtures, tub, sinks, insulation, possibly a deck and french doors, all new kitchen cupboards, and new hard wood floors, in master bedroom and throughtout the second level. Hardwood currently on main would need to be refinished to match new wood.
5. We may also look at having the roof of our current garage extended on side to allow for a covered deck in back yard. We would already have barkman 2x2 bricks for the deck from the back of the house.
6. Once all work complete we would need to have the stucco on exterior of house patched and painted with that elastic stuff.
Hugh projects, and we can't begin to start until we someone come out and look at house to see what our how house can be modified. Structurally house is straight and solid, just back layout in my opinion. We are currently working with a broker to see how much we can inflate the cost of house for reno purposes.
This hugh project is well worth the time and effort to quote, considering I have been diagnosed with a life long disability and we tried to sell home so we could move to something more suitable. House didn't sell, so our only option at this point is to make house work for me by renovating.
My house is about 60 years old and I would like to add a dining room. The front of the house is jutted, so an addition would make the front even. The only problem is that it is a 11/2 story so I assume the roof needs to be adjusted as well. I am also planning on redoing the upper story, so this may be done at the same time. I would like the addition to be from the livingroom, and I am interested in redoing the kitchen as well.
I would like to add on to the west side of my house. A 24 x 8 ft space. Would be adding a dining room to the kitchen and as well extending the living room. I would be doing my own painting and flooring. As I am a flooring installer myself. You could give me a material list and I will purchase materials and have on Site ready to go. I want to have a fence and deck done at a later date. I live in charleswood.

We are looking to add an addition to our home adding 2-3 bedrooms onto the top of our 3 level split and extending the kitchen on the botoom of the addition. We are looking to do most of the interior work ourselves but need an estimate on the construction of the addition from foundation, framing, roofing, siding, insulating, electrical and HVAC. All interior work would be done by ourselves, drywall, flooring, etc.
We have a 800 sq ft bungalow. Would like t build an addition to our home. Our basic problem is that we are a family of 5 in a 2 bedroom home sharing one bathroom. Would like an estimate of how much this project could cost. I have some rough sketches of what I'm interested in doing. Note the pictures with red markings are th "after" pics. I cannot post, can only email. There's some work that needs to be done to the other rooms in order forthis addition to work. This project will also include a 1/2 bath. The addition will be a bedroom and the half bath is located between an orig bedroom an the new addition. Thanks. Would like a rough estimate in order to have a magic number to mention at my appointment with the bank. Thx.
