We recently moved into a home in Ajax Ontario. It is a detached single family home on a good sized lot, with plenty of room on the sides to work. The house is approximately 35 years old, but the kitchen was renovated about 10 years ago.
The original wiring in the home is aluminium, but the kitchen is copper. The house still has a fuse panel with 100 amp service, and I'm considering switching to breaker service for convenience.
The primary task is adding an over the range microwave with hood fan to the kitchen. There is no hood fan at present, however there are two plugs on separate 15A fuses nearby that might be able to accommodate the OTR. The Cabinets above the stove will need to be moved up a little bit, but they are mounted to the wall independent of each other and should be relatively easy to move/remove to gain access.
The wall it is being mounted on is an exterior wall that will vent to the side of the house. The exterior is vinyl siding.
I would like an estimate for the installation of the microwave, including the venting.
I would like another separate estimate or combined estimate for the microwave and the breaker service. We are also having Central A/C installed, and there is a free spot on the panel for it to be installed so it is not crucial. Ultimately it will come to down to cost/benefit of switching.
If you need any other details, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you,
-Rob

We have a dining room (10x10), next to a living room (10x10), next to our kitchen (10x10). We would like to eliminate the living room and add this space to the kitchen. We need to remove the wall between the kitchen and the living room, expand the kitchen by a few feet (adding 4x10), and build a servery (6x10) with the leftover living room space.
Where the living room used to be, will contain:
- a servery (requires two potlights + light switch, one small sink, and two new power outlets)
- a space in the expanded kitchen for the fridge (requires a new electrical and water line)
- a broom closet (possibly one potlight + light switch)
- for a visual, please see attached pictures
In general, the above will involve mostly framing and drywalling. It may also possibly require (minimal) rerouting of one hot and one cold water line running by 1-2 feet.
We're not yet certain if the wall is load-bearing, so please provide one estimate in case it is, and a separate estimate in the event it is not. For the time being, please provide only a BALLPARK estimate! We will later follow up with a more precise on-site estimate.
Hi
I have an awkwardly placed corner kitchen 2 sink unit, that is set too far back in my granite countertop so that it hurts my back to do dishes, plus big dishes bump the bottom of my top cupboards..
I would rather avoid replacing all of my granite counter tops or moving the sinks, so I just think I need a bigger single corner sink, installed in the same hole or slightly bigger hole, maybe under the counter edges, or an apron style sink, that brings the sink much closer to the edge of the counter so I don't have to lean over. I live in south ajax and would like free online estimates to do this reno.
Hello! We recently bought a condo townhouse and want to demo the galley kitchen and replace it with IKEA cabinetry that we have already picked out - so we are looking for someone to possibly do the demo and installation or just the installation (depending on price). We are having a baby very soon and are looking for a great team that can do a quick turnaround on this fairly straightforward job of hanging cabinets and putting in the lower cabinets, backsplash and countertop. Thanks so much for your time!
