We have an 1879 triple brick victorian home which we are converting to a B&B. The home was turned into 5 apartments during the 2nd WW. We are going back to single family and need a new kitchen with a Victorian flavor, but modern convenience. We have removed all the former kitchen and are having the walls stripped of the old painted paper so we can paint. We have removed the laminated floor and expect to install a hardwood floor before installing the cabinets. We are waiting for a quote from Home Depot, but wondered if we are doing the wrong thing and would have a better outcome with cabinets built especially for us. We are on a fairly tight budget -- Money IS an object. The kitchen area is approximately 16x17. We expect to have about 15 to 20 feet of cabinets, some fairly tall because the walls are about 11 ft high, plus an island about 6 x 4.
If there is a company that would like to bid on this project please let me know. We hope to begin very soon and finish in late June or early July.
existing kitchen materials to be removed (plumbing hardwar to stay), square footage is average size bungalow kitchen. Preferred materials are white cupboards, double sink, some glass in corner unit of kitchen. Nice hardware (pewter maybe) for handles of doors. Age of house is 50 year bungalow. Renovate entire 1st floor of bungalow with the following: kitchen (as above), remove all carpets and replace with high quality laminate, remove wallpaper and fresh coat of paint. Install crown moulding and 3" baseboards (all white paint) remove all trim and old closets and doors, replace with white doors. Bathroom does not need to be touched. Just a estimate but would like to move on project. Would like to set up an inspection for two to three contractors for accurate quotation. Thanks.
I purchased a new sink for kitchen, it is roughly 2 inches larger than current sink.
I assume job would include:
-enlarging hole in counter sink would go in
-installing sink/faucet and providing required materials
-purchasing/providing and installing new piping under sink to fit new sink
There may be other aspects I am not aware of. Would be happy to discuss and provide further information you require.
I have a U shaped kitchen. I need 90 ft of laminate for counter which is three sections of 10 feet long.. I need it to be mitred on 2 sections. I also need a new double sink with a new single tap with veg sprayer. My choice for laminate is probably mid to top range price. Please give me an average estimate to supply the counter top and install it along with the cost of plumber to install sink and tap. I will buy my own sink and tap. I am a senior and I need the info as I don't want to get overcharged.
Thank you
Elizabeth
We are hoping to knock down a couple walls in our kitchen and have an island built in it's place. If possible we would also like to install a microwave hood vent over our stove.
We would also like to expand the bathroom in our basement out- would involve knocking down a few walls, building the walls back up and fixing the flooring and ceiling from the expansion.
Hello,
We’re looking for a rough estimate. We purchased a townhome in Cambridge. We take possession on May 28 and would like to get the renos started immediately.
I have attached the measurements from the mls listing along with our own rough measuring.
Living (12.8 x 19 ft)
Kitchen (8.9 x 8.9 ft)
Dining (8.9 x 12.8 ft)
Master (12.8 x 15.7 ft)
Bedroom (7.9 x 11.5 ft)
2nd Bedroom (8.9 x 13.8 ft)
Bathroom (11.8 x 11.8 ft)
Can you please give us a breakdown of how much each would cost?
-Refinish kitchen cabinets
-Quartz countertop/glass backsplash (with under-mount sink/faucet)
-Vinyl floor on the main floor
-Vinyl floor on stairs/2nd floor
-Main bathroom: new vanity, floor, remove tub and replace with stand up glass shower
How long will it take to complete? How soon after May 28 can you start?
Thank you,
Chester
