Looking to get our 3 year old cedar deck stripped and restrained.
Details of deck:
- Roughly 400 square feet of flat rectangular space - no spindles, no posts as deck rails are all glass with steel posts.
- Has stairs to lower level which will also need to be stripped and stained - there are no spindles!
- 150 square feet of screening (cedar) will also need to be stained but not stripped as the wood was never treated.
- Deck is elevated and runs off kitchen above basement walk out.
- Important to not get stain on patio stones below deck.
- No carpentry work is required.
This is a modification to an existing concrete porch. We want to add a wood tongue and groove top, which requires the current stairs to be backfilled first (with something cheap like cinder blocks). Then a new set of wide wooden stairs to be built out from the new porch. Lattice skirting to be applied to finish the look.
Looking to freshen up house before selling. Deck needs replacing. Some believe a new deck adds value to selling price, others do not. I’m not sure where I stand. Love to get quotes on tearing out completely, and replacing.
Here are the measurements:
Upper tier is 16 ft x 19 ft, and lower tier is 11.5 ft x 16 ft. Three steps from upper tier to yard, and one step from lower tier to yard
Some pictures are included. Please let me know what you think.
Good morning,
I'm currently looking to sub-contract the deck portion of a quote I'm completing for a client. This is a waterfront property in Lincoln ON. The deck will be a new construction on the slope side of the property with steps down from the existing level grade.
If you could let me know if this is of interest to you and your availability for a site visit for either later this week or next, that would be greatly appreciated.
Ultimately, we are looking for someone to become our "go to" deck people and will be looking to this project as a decision provess moving forward.
Thanks for your time!
Darryl Lee
