Hello
We are the property owner (just purchased a condo townhouse) and are planning to:
- knock down the wall in our kitchen (the wall is ~3 meters long). We're planning to do the cabinets ourselves to save on costs, so that's all that needs to be done in the kitchen)
- the 4-pc bathroom (replacing the tub, seat, vanity) + 2-pc bathroom (includes removal of wall tiles)
Please note that our budget is very limited. We are hoping to get all of this done with less than 15K, including the cost of the material.
Our property management requires WSIB and Liability Insurance Certificates.
Thank you kindly!

Hi,
We would like to completely renovate a Master Ensuite Bathroom in a 30-year old house in Richmond Hill. All the plumbing can stay in place but all else needs to be replaced, including redoing the drywall. The room is approximately 35 sq ft plus an adjoining 21 sq ft vanity area. Our preferred materials are granite for counter tops and ceramic for floors. Please let us know an approximate range for pricing of the entire project.
Thank you,
Anh
Hello,
We've been updating and renovating the house. But we still have only one bathroom upstairs. When we checked, some contractors really put us down saying to add a second bathroom is way too expensive due to the toilet pipe, that needs to be added all the way to the outside, if I got it right.
How much does that mean, though? Because the house would certainly improve in value with an ensuite master bedroom instead of a shared bathroom. The second bathroom would be right beside the current one is.
So, the question is, roughly, how much is it to build a second bathroom upstairs? Standard finishings, Ikea cabinets or nothing fancy.
Thank you
Camila
to replace existing walk in shower - new shower to be 4.5 ft. with ceramic tiles on wall and floor and to finish shelving of storage closet next to shower to accommodate the new shower. The existing shower is about 3ft and is situated next to a storage closet (the depth to be reduced by 1.5 ft to extend the length of existing shower unit).
Looking for online estimate only.
Shower is 36inches x 36 inches x 84 inches high. Has 3 walls. I need the existing walls taken down, re dry walled and tiles replaced as well as the shower head and faucets. Also new floor in shower.
Tiles are fine, as inexpensive as possible with the house being 28 yr old. This is the ensuite bathroom of the master bedroom on second floor.
Already spent over $4000 about 7 years ago - current surface is over the original tile. Spent another $900 2 years ago to treat for mold and re-grout. (See pictures).
I do not want to "fix" this again, clearly that will not work. I would like to rip out the entire built-in enclosure and replace it with a modern shower unit.
So estimate is for
- complete removal of existing enclosure (possible exception of wall containing plumbing, but please advise on that).
- acquire and install chosen unit
- refinishing around new unit as necessary
1. Son's bathroom: New vanity, mirror, faucet and toilet already purchased by owner but needs to be installed. We would like to move the position of the bathtub, therefore we need a plumber. We need a new tub, glass door, niche and shower/tub faucets. We need an electrician to install 2 potlights, wall sconce above the mirror, new fan and install heated flooring. We need new tiles in the shower, maybe partial wall and floor. Paint ceiling, walls and door. Some accessories: perhaps a towel warmer, etc. We are willing to purchase items to keep costs down.
2. Master ensuite bathroom: Possible custom vanity with one sink, storage, lights, remove tub, enlarge shower with bench, niche, glass door, potlights, new fan, towel warmer, heated flooring, tiles, paint, etc.
Moving into an older style home with 2 awkward bathrooms that need renovations.
The main bath upstairs needs a large tub removed and a stand up shower installed. Water damage is evident in one corner of the ceiling.
The basement bathroom needs an old shower removed and a new one installed. Mold is evident on the walls and under the tiles.
We have access to the home now and would like the work completed before we move in early-mid October.
I would like to clarify...we are not looking for "wow-factor" e.g. $15,000 bathrooms. All we want are two simple, basic, functional and clean bathrooms at the lowest cost possible. That is your challenge!
We need to change master ensuite washroom's standing shower, which is currently an old style surrounded wall & Tile area, to be replaced by new style Standing Glass enclosed Shower area.
Looking for right price quotes from licensed bathroom renovation contractors with good past references / similar projects completed.
Thanks,
Nikhil
