I am looking for someone to build a fireplace mantel, approximately 120 cm in length.
I would also need the gas fireplace insert and the gas line to the fireplace.
I would also need the electrical outlets moved - so that the tv can fit on top of the fireplace
It will also need to be designed to look good with the surrounding wall unit.
Hello,
I have an electric wall mounted fireplace that need fixing. It even worked for one season. The manufactoring company is located in Montreal and they suggested any electrician can repair. they suggested that one part should change.
It is Wall Mounted Sylviana Fireplace heater. It was working good for 2-3 months then started some loud noise and finallly turned off. I changed the romote's batteris but it didn't help. It doesn't turn on at all.
What part I have to change/replace? Do you have a part or I have to order it from the manufactoring company in Montreal? how much cost for repair not the part? how long will take to repair it?
Model: SRW 913T-33BK
Demension:18.1"H x 32 5/8"W x 7 1/2"D
I am looking forward to hear from you.
Thanks.
Anna
We would like to put in a fireplace (electric or ethanol) with our tv mounted above.
This job would be to design, build and install the fireplace surround and install the fireplace and TV. We are debating between a concrete fireplace surround or faux stone (e.g. Stoneslex or Erthstone).
If concrete, approximate size would probably be 4' wide by 5' high plus a hearth (concrete, extending maybe 2' out and being say 6' wide) and mantle (wood or similar).
If faux stone, we would probably do the entire wall, 9'wide by 9' high with a hearth maybe 4' wide and coming out 2' made of unknown material (slate tile?).
This would be on an interior drywalled wall, with no venting requirements and recessed plug for tv and separate circuit for fireplace already installed. Currently on the wall are 2 air intake ducts, so these would have to be relocated or closed up (if not needed).
I am looking for a good contractor to work on a project in my home to install a gas or electric fireplace in the living room. It requires a wall build out and some mantle construction (wood and tile). It is in a condo building and it already has the set up proper venting and gas line hook ups installed, so only needs the wall construct install and finish. I have photos of the space as well as the look style that I am looking to recreate. I am hoping to get this done rather quickly, so please let me know what your availability is like. ideally we would like to have this done as soon as possible.
Happy to send photos in advance.
Thank you in advance for your interest.
Best regards,
Caroline
I have 2 fireplaces in my homes. the first one is sealed over (with drywall), but connects to a chimney on the roof. I would like to re-open this fireplace and replace it with a gas insert fireplace, one that is raised off the floor and flush with the wall. Would need someone to assess and let me know what the possibilities are for re-opening this fierplace - this may involve inspecting the chimney as well?
The second is a gas direct vent fierplace in my livingroom that is operational. It is a fake log set and I would like to replace it with a linear ribbon model.
Replace old coal burning fireplace with new electric fireplace
1. Repair old oak strip flooring where old mantle was removed
2. Lay limestone tiles on hearth
3. Repair mortar/plaster where old fireplace removed
4. Build frame for new electric fireplace and install
5. Fix new mantle to wall
6. Build fitted bookcase either side of fireplace and paint
The fire place in my house is 15 years old and is a gas fireplace, double sided. It stopped working after the small flame became extinguished. The switch on the wall is electrical but it does not work.
Please advice what to do, maybe it just needs a small new part where the gas connection is; inside the fireplace.
Thank you,
Danille
After FP inspection discovered masonry needs to be repaired on main floor FP and new liner installed. Also exterior chimney needs some masonry repair. Would like to reface after FP is brought up to code. Do not want a woodstove, open FP only but manufactured maybe ok. Would like mason/FP specialist who can complete entire project.
1. Remove existing fireplace mantle, and replace with floor to ceiling (8') stone work with space for a TV inside stone work or on top of stone work.

Existing wood burning Fire Place with gumwood mantle.

Looking for Quarzlite ledge stone, or something similar.
We do not have posession of the home yet so I do not have access for an onsite quote yet. Pls any rough estimate will do for now until closing

We have two wood burning fireplaces that we would like converted to natural gas fireplaces. The job would be to install either gas fireplace inserts and/or a direct vent fireplace in the below grade room. Also included would be installing metal liners in the existing fireplace chimney. We have natural gas lines connected to the house. We will need to some gas piping to run to the side of the house where the existing fireplaces are located.
Looking to purchase + install a gas fireplace insert into my existing wood burning fireplace. The opening of my fireplace is 26w x 25h x 15 d.
Fireplaces I am considering:
Marquis capella
Valor G3
Napoleon Infrared 3
Can you please provide a separate quote for the actual fireplace and installation?
Thanks,
Jon
Hello,
I have a gas fireplace which does not work -- it's fairly new, with a remote, brand is Valor. Would like someone to come by and fix it. I live in Bloor West, and would like this done as soon as possible. You must be certified to work on gas and must have proof of insurance.
Thank you,
Terry
My gas fireplace stopped working last fall. I believe it's because the electrician disconnected the switch when he set up a motion sensor light. He says this is not the problem. Anyway, I cannot get the pilot light to work, the remote won't activate the fireplace, and I don't want to experiment any further.
I am near Greenwood and Danforth.
We have purchased the stone...2 slabs I think it is Alabaster but not sure. We need to have the slabs joined and cut. We want something interesting and bit artistic...not just straight...maybe with a curve in the stone. Our house is about 100 years old and it is going to be on the top of a brick fireplace. It is not a huge job but could be interesting for the right person with some good ideas.
I have a VERY small fireplace with an older chimney. I'm looking for someone with solid references and portfolio of work to enlarge this small firebox and lay the correct materials (to meet code) so that it will safely accommodate a wood-burning, airtight insert. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I'm not looking for the cheapest quote, either. I'm more concerned with finding someone with a good reputation who will do the job well.
Hi
I have just closed on a new place and before moving in, I wanted to return a white painted brick fireplace to its natural brick finish. I know that you can get paint strippers (e.g. PeelAway) to do this vs sandblasting but being pregnant I am reluctant to use chemicals. Interested in getting a quote / contractor for this small job. Would like it done asap.
Thanks
Amber
Hello,
Looking for a contractor to tile fireplace wall and install wood beam between fireplace and tv.
I've attached a picture with a beam that resembles what I'm looking to have done.
I've also posted two pictures of the current wall (one before dry wall was installed and one after). Hoping this gives you enough information to determine if you could complete the job.
I can source the tile but will look for the contractor source the beam.
Wish to make our main floor masonry fireplace up to code for wood burning.
Require the following:
New hearth extension - pour concrete floor
rebuild a firebox with damper
stainless steel chimney liner
install precast concrete cap
reconstruct and parge smoke chamber
Must guarantee work, provide references.
Final facing and tiles to be done by homeowner.
