Hello there,
I am interested in getting a quote to finish a basement of a Heritage House (built in 1840). Specifically, I would like to know if the basement can be made into usuable living space (recreation room, guest bedroom, bathroom). The basement seems to be dry and the ceiling height allows for sufficient height with a few exceptions where it may be low. I am sending some pictures I took of the basement to give you an idea of what it looks like. The square footage of the basement is around 1500 square feet.

Hello contractors!
We are looking to hire a contractor to take care of a few basement renovations including:
-relocating the laundry room (requires creating a new vent on the side of the house)
-closing off the laundry/furnace room (framed and dry walled but not finished)
-Additional electrical sockets
-we are planning on keeping the floor and ceiling unfinished so no finishes necessary
-and possibly some plumbing work if the budget allows for an unfinished half-bath (rough-in already available)
Please let me know if you are available to come by to discuss the work needed and provide a quote. :)
Thank you,
Hillary
House built in 2002-2003. Basement considered finished, except for:
- The laundry room, 8 x 8, sectioned off with furnace: there is drywall (not jointed) installed on the outside walls leaving one inside wall to finish, as well as door trim and baseboards (and maybe the ceiling but condensation occurs on one pipe when the dryer is running). Walls and floor to be painted.
- The ceiling for the entire basement: approx. 16 x 10 (not including the laundry room). Considering a suspended ceiling, but condensation occurs on two pipes when dryer in the laundry room is running.
Thank you!
I bought a semi-detach built in the early '80s. The basement is currently unfinished. There is concrete flooring, the basement has no drywall as well as one small portion of concrete wall. I would like to make an area for dancing/entertaining with a bar area. I am interested in somehting chic, but very affordable. I prefer the look of drywall for ceiling finish. For flooring, floating would be sufficient. I am uncertain that I want a washroom yet. I would like estimates with/ without a full washroom. I believe the basement is 450 square feet.
