I have a bungalow built in 1951 that I would like to add a deck to, as well as converting part of the back yard to patio. The work would include turf removal , the creation of at least one flowerbed and the possible creation of a small retaining wall (the yard to the east of the site is on a downslope). I would prefer to have the deck made from cedar and the patio to be paving stone or brick. The appropriate grading and drainage would need to be built in to the plan as the back yard currently slopes slightly down in to the back of the house and I don't believe there is weeping tile in place there. The deck will be about 14 x 12 feet and the patio will be slightly larger. The patio will be hemmed in by the house (there is one basement window to deal with) the fence between my yard and the nieghbours, the garage and the deck.
I'm hoping to have the construction started as soon as possible and completed before the end of the month. I am flexible on the timing but would like to enjoy my new yard additions as much as possible before the cold weather comes .
We need a small deck built around our hot tub that was just installed. This would be created adjacent to an existing deck.
This would include some privacy fencing on two sides and probabably a pergola.
Partial step reconstruction from main deck and steps down to lawn on one octagonal side in the front.
Can provide a rough blue print of what we want but would love some onsite expert help with the design.
Treated wood for framing and possibly decking but would prefer composite decking depending on the price difference.
Framing including cement footings considered very important.
Roughly 182 square feet.
Would like this started as soon as possible.
Thanks!
Kevin
We are looking to have a 16x20 foot deck built. We have a cement slab right outside our patio doors which covers a hole which used to be a separate entrance. We also have a stone patio where is looks as though the outside stones are cemented down. The patio door is only 17 inches above the ground so the deck would need to be low. Would love to hear what you can do as we really want to enjoy a patio this summer.
Hello,
I am looking for someone who can build a deck with a reasonable price. I can donate my time to help cut some of the cost. I am working with Home Depot to get a quote for all items required so that I can avail an 18month instalment plan with no interest. Plan is as below:
1. Existing PT Decking to be replaced with Composite Decking (10' x 13')
2. New deck addition of 18' x 20' tied into old deck with 1 step down.
I would like to keep the frame for the existing deck which was built by the builder.
I have the plans drawn up which I can share upon request.
Extending a 2nd story deck. Current deck is 9'10" deep x 14' wide. Want to extend the deck sideways by 7' + a landing and add stairs. (9'10" x 21' total + 3'x3' landing)
Need to add one pillar and foundation. And finish all 3 pillars with cultured stone to match house. (see photos)
Current deck has duradeck floor and glass panels with aluminum railings and we would like to finish the extension to match.
Current deck is plumbed for natural gas (no need to adjust) but we would like a price to add a water tap (optional and price dependent).
I'm looking for some good ideas on the stairs - please provide a description of your idea and an allowance for the stairs in the quote.
We are the owner.
Desire project to be complete by early July.
Deck is over concrete walkout patio. One corner of deck has sunk 2 to 3 inches.
The wood posts (2) are surrounded by the patio concrete and need replacing due to rot. Concrete has also sunk by about 2 to 3 inches and needs lifting or the gap filled.
I would like someone to determine and perform the correct fix for the post replacements. I don't know what type of pile is under the posts because they are covered by the concrete patio. The patio appears to have been poured around the wood posts. The work would probably involve coordinating with a mudjacking company.
I have other potential landscaping type work to be done depending on price but the deck is my priority.
We have a deck behind our kitchen 85" x 120" and the stairs go straight out it to the backyard (and add another 35" to the 85"). The stairs are also very narrow. We have a young child and want to fence it in and make the stairs wider. The deck is exclusively used the BBQ, we have a patio below so making it smaller to widen the stairs is an option. Our timeline is flexible but we would like the project done before the summer.
I am open to suggestions to keep the project costs down while making it safe. Thank you for your time.
Remove old deck (12'X10' approximate). About 4' - 5' high.
Build a new deck flat about 1.5' - 2' high with 2 dimensions (Left side = 12'X12', Right side 16'X12'). Obviously this will be 1 flat deck. A stair will be needed to get from door to deck.
I need a deck surface stripped and replaced with 3/4" plywood and new 65 mil vinyl covering. I also need the stairs replaced and would like to use steel stringers with composite treads. The stair mid way platform should be re-usable but does need one cross support board replaced. I would like to try and re-use the existing railing system if possible. Photos attached. The deck is approximately 410 square feet.
We have an approx 600sq ft cedar deck that we would like re-finished and stained. It is only 3 years old but the original stain coat was not applied properly and flaked off the spring following application. Over the past 2 years the deck has grayed with UV exposure. We would like to return it back to its original cedar colour and then apply a clear coat. Deck has no rails and limited steps. No benches. It is pretty straight forward.
My deck requires a new surface. Replaced boards and put on glass rails and some kind of deck covering you 'paint' on (not sure what it's called) 2 years ago. The deck covering is all cracked and water pools when it rains). Need to either put on new boards to replace this or a different type of deck surface. Stairs also need to be painted. Would like to get this done before winter ...
Need to evaluate a walkout deck to see if it only needs repair or replacement. The deck is about 14' x 28' (there is a nook the jets out from the house that is about 4 x 12) with a vinyl surface and aluminum railings. The vinyl needs to be replaced and the plywood underneath needs to be either replaced or have additional sheets put over it. It was pressure treated plywood that was used the first time. The deck is on the main floor but it is about 11 12 above the patio below.
I have a 13x23ft deck covered in vinyl decking, the decking has been torn and needs replacing. Also I would like to add a landing and stairs as well as gates to the landing and the existing stairs. The railings are metal with glass. The new landing and stairs will lead to a dog run, I am looking for decorative fencing ideas to make the dog run fit in with the style of my yard. I also need some sections of a wood fence repaired.
I would like to have this work done as soon as possible, please contact me anytime.
Cheers
Alexa
The current 2nd floor walkout plywood and vinyl deck (10' x 16') is water damaged and requires replacement. Looking for a quote to replace the deck surface with a composite material. The joists are fine however the nails used for the brackets were the wrong grade and will need to be replaced. Please provide pricing for demo and replacement. Thank you in advance !
I have a deck on the second floor of my home (above my living room off a bedroom sliding door), the flooring of which needs to be replaced.
I have the same deck material on another deck at ground level that I may consider replacing as well (same age as the other one), depending on cost.
As I am preparing to list my home, cost is a factor, and I would like to do it as economically as possible.
Replace existing 16 (along house) x 12 foot wooden deck with 16 x 16 foot Trex deck and Regal railing and stairs (replacing side stair with rear) for a 12 year old stucco home.
Costs should include any necessary permits, removal of old materials, materials, and construction including taxes.
This would be a budgetary estimate to determine if this is a project that should proceed this summer.
I need a small elevated deck replaced on my house in the Dewinton Area, it is approximately 12X10 feet. It is currently built of spruce that has deteriorated to the point it needs replacing. Ideally I would like to do a straight replacement with pressure treated lumber, 3/4 tongue and grove pressure treated plywood will be the finish on top. Glued and screwed.
We are starting a whole home Reno but are starting in the front then working back. We want to convert a current bay window with a front entry door. This will require a small deck to be built for the walk up. We also want 2 over grown evergreen trees removed right away. We also need a window installed in the place of the old front door and new windows cut in the basement to bring us up to code.
Please contact if interested in coming by for a quote.
Looking for a quote on building a new deck. See attached drawings for scope of work. New deck is made out of 2 sections, 12x18 and 8x12ft. Small 10ft x 5ft deck there now that needs to be torn down. I also have all the materials priced out ready for order and delivery from Rona so quote can be with or without materials. I would like a composite floor and would railing with black metal spindles. looking at uberhaus kits.Budget is flexible, more like 1,000 - 8,500.
Undeveloped back yard. On slope in Rocky Ridge. Have an upper deck from the kitchen/main floor that is the width of the house. Would like to build a lower tier deck along with a retaining wall - not a big back yard - there is currently a retaining wall about 30 feet away from the house that was put in place by the builders. would like to build another about 20 feet from the house to have 2 levels from the walk-out basement.
