This project consists of 2 parts:
Part 1 - Installation of soundproofing materials to the ceiling of two basement bedrooms. New ceilings can be flat (without texture)
Bedroom 1 - 10'6" x 14'7"
- Cut out drywall around the ceiling heat vent to try and secure the vent. There are popping sounds in the upstairs bedroom and I think it is because the upstairs vents are uninsulated and therefore expanding and contracting. Investigation required. There are two furnaces in the home so the ventilation ducts are separate.
- Supply and install soundbar on ceiling
- Supply and install Sonopan panels on ceiling - see this link for detailsclick here Supply and install drywall on ceiling
- Mud and tape ceiling joints, as well as corners to walls.
- Prime and paint ceiling
- Add extension to ceiling light box and ceiling vent register, reinstall both.
Bedroom 2 - 10'8" x 12'11" (there is a drop ceiling that may not need to be opened)
- Supply and install soundbar on ceiling
- Supply and install Sonopan panels on ceiling
- Supply and install drywall on ceiling
- Mud and tape ceiling joints, as well as corners to walls.
- Prime and paint ceiling
- Add extension to ceiling light box and ceiling vent register, reinstall both.

Part 2: New flooring/baseboards for both main and ensuite bathrooms
Main floor size: 34.4 sqft
Ensuite floor size: 16 sqft
For both main and ensuite upstairs bathroom floors:
- Remove both toilets and all baseboards with the intention of reinstalling the toilet in ensuite only, after new flooring.
- Supply and install click style vinyl plank flooring over existing floor in both bathrooms. (estimated $3-$4/sqft)
- Supply and install new toilet in main hallway bathroom (current one is very old)
- Supply and install new baseboards and door framing for both bathrooms
- Install new bathroom fan in the main hallway bathroom supplied by myself (I bought the Breeze Easy 100 CFM from costco).
Let me know if you can do Part 1, Part 2 or both!
Thanks,
I own a condo that a renter just moved out of. I need some work done before I rent it out again.
1. New bed room door put in
2. Fresh coat of paint in whole condo
3. I had laminate flooring put in before the renter moved in. It was not done well and is moving/lifting. I would like to have that fixed/re-done.
3. Kitchen - linoleum taken out and laminate put in.
Install of floor ceramic tile, with 1/4" wonderboard, in 2 small bathrooms, an entrance, kitchen and laundry room.
Laminate flooring and underlay in 2 bedrooms and living room. Replace base board.
Majority of work, except finishing touches, must be done between Aug. 19 and Aug 24.
the work is in a 2 bedroom/ 2bath condo
We have recently purchased an older home and are in the process of updating the flooring. We have approx 800 sq ft of space on the main floor, including 6 steps from the entrance to the main floor. I am planning on purchasing vinyl plank flooring from Home Depot (click install system). There is currently no furniture in the space and we have removed the carpet and underlay from the floors and old laminate from the stairs. However, I am not certain if the floor is sufficiently level for the vinyl installation and leveling might be needed. We are hoping to have the flooring installed before the end of August (when we move in). My budget is approximately $8500 (including the cost of materials, which I have estimated to be $5000).
I require an installer to install floating click vinyl plank flooring as well as vinyl baseboards in 3 connecting rooms. Total square footage is 275 sqft. I will supply the vinyl flooring and ensure that all movable fixtures are out of the way. I would prefer the installer to supply and bill for the vinyl baseboard, however I could supply the baseboard if the installer identifies a product of their preference. Job site is in Gibbons, AB just north of Edmonton. I am looking to have this completed in the next 2 weeks.
Last year we bought a new and very expensive Christmas tree stand. Unfortunately it was a full week before we realized it was leaking all over our hardwood floors. They are now damaged and this spot needs repair. We have some of the original pieces that were left over after installation, not sure if they are adequate.
