I require 2 basement windows to be installed. Existing windows do not meet requirements. Need to cut the exiting window openings to fit a sliding window. Need cement cut, window ordered, window frame installed, window installed. Window opening should be sligtly higher than grade and therefore will not require a window well. Current basement is (was) finished however had water damage a couple of months ago and now is the perfect timing to do the windows while the carpet is gone and part of the drywall is gone.
2 projects
Project 1:
I have 4 large, old basement windows that I would like to replaced.
-The openings for 2 windows are: 85" X 21.25" (Exact measurement)
-The openings for the other 2 windows are: 123" X 21.25" (Length is an approx. measure)
Cost will determine whether I do 1,2,3 or all of the windows.
Please break quote down per window, and split out the labour.
Project 2
I would like to replace two storm doors, one at our house and one at my parent's house (N. Edmonton.)
- Door at our place is approx. 34" X 83"
- I have not measured the door at my parent's, but it looks pretty standard.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi there,
I am looking to have 4 basement windows cut into my basement. 2 of these will be enlarging existing windows -- from about 3 feet by two feet, and making them about 3 feet by 4 feet.
The other two windows will be new windows -- 3 feet by 4 feet.
I am looking to get a quote with everything included except hauling away the concrete -- so cutting, installing support where needed, installation of new windows, and the windows themselves.
Thanks so much,
Jeremy
Two basement windows need size expansion to bring to the code. Current size fro each window is 1 feet high * 3 feet wide (including aluminium casing). Therefore, will require some concrete cutting as well to increase the size (particularly in height). House is bunglow, 1979 build, finished basement. Joist run parallel to the window.
The primary scope of work is to cut 2 basement windows from existing size to a 30x54 inch. Installation of high quality window would be prefered. Windows must havet the ability to allow 4ft sheets after window's installed.
Depending on cost the following may be requested.
1) Modify basement walls and build a bedroom with closet.
2) Install bathroom, modifications to rough-in may be required.
Work is preferred to start by end of March 2009.
Thank you!
I have a bathroom window that is leaking terribly and needs to come out - rotting away actually.... not sure if from the window or from the roof ?? I have a flat tar roof and maybe something up there is happening!? A door below (floor below said bathroom) is also very hard to open and close as must be from leak above!? Not sure if leak is in between walls either!? I don't know what to do or who to contact etc. ......... I need someone who knows lots about everything so to speak and won't rip me off either!? HELP!! I'm also off work this next week and was hoping I could have it looked at and possibly even fixed or a plan in place anyhow in that time...... Should I be looking for a window person first , then possibly a roof person.... or is there someone that could do both!??
I am looking to have a bay window on the back of my house repaired. Parts of the exterior sills and framing have got wet and rotted. The underframing has also had water get into it and would need to be rebuilt and insulated. The interior woodwork seems to be in good condition, but the seals on the casement windows need replacing. The window is 6' tall with a 2' frame underneath it. It is about 6'6" wide. The largest piece of glass is 3'5" wide. with two casement windows on either side. The window is very easy to access. The window was likely built in the mid 1980's when an extension was added to the back of the house. I would rather renovate the window than replace it with a full vinyl window, although I would like to get a wrapped sill installed. I would appreciate an estimate on what the repairs would cost.
Thanks very much

75”W-38”H X3
The first photo attached is my house and the second photo is for reference of how I kinda would like it to look finished. Thanks!
I am looking to replace an existing window, approximately 6' by 6', in my kitchen with a bay window which would allow for built-in seating and storage benches. Looking for a qualified professional to provide a quote. This will be part of a larger project in which all the windows in the home are being replaced.
Retail medical supply company in the Edmonton requires;
Remove an existing 9' 8" non-load bearing wall, reposition 7' and recreate. Add an additional perpendicular 17.5" foot wall to include 2 x 4'x3' windows and 36" entrance door.
Price should include demolition, removal of all debris and installation of all new material. Since we will continue to operate our busy retail operation during this construction phase, care and diligence must be taken into consideration so as not to disrupt our customers or staff.

I have a hollow core 36-inch wide door to basement in our house, which lets sound through. I want it replaced by a professional and licensed carpenter, preferably with a pre-hung solid core door, that is of better sound insulation. The current deadbolt will have to be transferred to the new door.
If you are a professional, LICENCED & INSURED carpenter, with excellent references, who provides workmanship warranty with every job, call me, OR email me your quote if you have done such a job recently. Please do not text.
Hakim.
PS. Am available today before lunchtime if you need to come and assess the job.
I have a house with an old side door, 28" X78" in size.
I would like a larger door installed, at least 32' wide. I believe the basement is concrete block, so about two feet at the top of the basement wall would have to be widened to fit the new door, as well as new framing and taller header.
Thank you.

We are looking to get a door installed in the entry way to the basement main area. This will require dry wall and the installation of a hollow core door opening outwards into the hall.
The space for the door is around 4' wide and 7-8' tall. We are currently in the process of putting down laminate flooring which should be completed this upcoming weekend.
The start date is flexible however I would prefer sooner than later so we can start moving stuff into that room.
The property owner lives in the house and one of us will be around during the installation process. I am just getting quotes and everything figured out first.
What I need from you is an approximate quote, I imagine you need to measure things out to give exact numbers. Plus the timeframe you will be completing the job in.
Other than that we are super easy to work with guys in our 30s who lack the talent to put this up ourselves.
I'm looking for a finishing install quote for a 3608sq ft (total) duplex. To be finished with #90628 5-1/4" paint grade mdf, #450 1-1/2"x4-1/2" headers and #3248 2-3/8" rakes on all doors & windows
34 doors, to be per- hung riverside style with 3 satin nickel hinges (4 doors to be french with clear glass)
16 windows largest size 107 x60"
Hi,
I have an exterior door that swings in the wrong direction, and I have purchased a new door, looking at it, I would just need the door swapped out so it opens in the right direction, and hinges milled and hardware installed, and then the old areas filled back in. Are you able to do this? If so, what would it cost and when can you come take a look to give me a quote?
Thanks.
I'm looking for someone to design an exterior door leading from my basement to my backyard in my bi-level home following the city of Edmonton permit requirements. The door will be installed below an uncovered deck, so minimal load from above. I'm looking for a price range to add to my budget to proceed with work.
I require an estimate for vinyl cladding for all the wood windows in a 1500 sq ft side-by-side duplex, colour white, built in 1988-89. The exterior wood trim and caulking is in reasonable shape and would probably require only some sanding in some places by way of remediation before installation. The next-door neigbour had their identical unit done several years ago, and the installation presented no problems. There is an outside door, double garage doors, patio door, plus an awning window, several crank-outs and several fixed windows.
Thank you.
We have a condo complex consisting of 50 units build in the mid seventies. Above and bellow each windows there is a 6-8 inch wide 1/2" plywood plate covering the width of the window. They are painted. Some of these plates are deteriated and allowing moister into the walls causing problems.
We need an inspection and a quote for changing all these plates on each window on every condo.
