I’m feel compelled to revise my earlier testimonial re: Flaviano and Erica to prevent others from enduring the ordeal that my family has gone through. The initial project involving a balcony renovation seemed successful, leading me to hire them for two bathroom renovations. However, my perspective changed a few months later during the first bathroom renovation when my house suffered severe water damage on all three levels due to the balcony renovation.
Upon notifying Above Construction about the persistent operation of the bathroom fan, during the first bathroom reno, their approach was limited to adjusting its moisture sensitivity, without delving into the underlying issue. Subsequently, it was discovered that the true cause was a faulty shower wall installation, resulting in water accumulation within the wall and exacerbating the damage. This incident is emblematic of a series of errors within the bathroom renovation process.
Regrettably, the damage inflicted on my home due to the inept workmanship is extensive and requires thousands of dollars in repairs. Living spaces, a bedroom, a balcony, and a bathroom have all become unusable due to a multitude of errors and mistakes, including poor workmanship, improper measurements, improper materials, and improper installations.
Their inability to manage subcontractors only added to the challenges. Amid persistent delays and Flaviano's frustration with subcontractors in both the balcony and bathroom renovations, I remained positive due to mutual connections with a family friend. However, skepticism grew. Despite these obstacles, I maintained patient, hoping for resolutions as promised. Unfortunately, my efforts were in vain as months went by without any resolutions. I was further shocked when Flaviano requested additional payments despite the deteriorating state of my house.
Initially, I believed that hiring a General Contractor like Above Construction would spare me from the potential stress and issues of home renovation. However, their involvement didn't alleviate concerns; instead, it exacerbated them, leading to increased complexity. To make matters worse, the insurance provided by Above Construction failed to cover damages resulting from their subpar workmanship.
The most disheartening aspect was their unwillingness to admit their errors and assume complete accountability for the resulting damages. Their unprofessional conduct was evident as they neglected to arrange for necessary property repairs, fully cover the costs of repairs, and offer suitable compensation. Additionally, they chose not to refund the down payments for the second bathroom renovation, which had become unfeasible due to the circumstances.
Individuals offering repair estimates were taken aback by the quality of materials used by Above Construction, considering their inflated costs, as well as the prevalent errors, inaccurate measurements, improper choice of materials, and improper installations.
Our Above Construction experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. The initial promise of enthusiasm gave way to a series of disappointments and stress that no homeowner should endure. I strongly urge anyone considering their services to think twice.
