Medi Nou or Mehdi Zare Nouri or Matt, as he interchanges his name and does not have one consistent name, was hired as an independent contractor to complete a bathroom reno through the Home Depot services program in September 2021. It began very unprofessional with the demo of our old bathroom, which he left the materials in a garbage bag along with our toilet on the curb of our home that we share with our neighbors for some days. After we received a complaint from the Ajax city officials at our door made by our neighbors was when they were finally removed. Matt then went on to install the floor tile and after inspecting the first few tiles and expressing I was not fond of the tile and would like it changed, he insisted because he already began he would be unable to undo it and fulfill our request. Matt confirmed what tile would be used for the shower but not the floor and rather than remove what he started and listen to the client/customer requests, he decided he would do what he believed to be suitable and finished. He did not install a transition strip where the tile meet the floor and this has also presented to be a hazard as my family members and I have hit and tripped over this part of the floor numerous times. I mentioned that I would like to get new flooring for the outside carpet, but I never had plans to actually get flooring as we do not have the money for that and we never will be changing it. Even if there were to be hardwood placed, the two types of flooring would not even align and he should have put a transition strip down regardless! After the installation of the vanity, which began to detach after a week or two, we were forced to hire another trusted contractor to come in and finish the vanity installation correctly for another out of pocket fee of around $700. We made Matt aware of the vanity detaching and he said he can come repair it, however at this point we were already irritated with him as he could not do it correctly the first time and my mother employed someone else who we could trust to successfully install the vanity. Now, there is damage on the wall where the vanity came down and removed parts of the wall. The electrical work was also not completed up to par and the bathroom fan and light cannot be used separately, only simultaneously, therefore the light cannot be used without the fan also in use and he did not replace the fan cover. In addition, we initially agreed we would keep our previous toilet, however during handling it was cracked/broken and Matt replaced our toilet without making me aware, which made it impossible to select a new toilet of our choosing. He also was unable to install a bidet as he stated was due to lack of space in our bathroom, however I was able to install a handheld bidet as you can see with the photo provided. In addition, he did not install a door stopper, so where the door meets the wall has caused damage from repeated contact. He insisted on receiving cash, e-transfer and cheque payments to Air Chimia Inc. rather than credit card payments to avoid a paper trail. There was an invoice created for labour for a total of $3390 by Handyman Connection of Scarborough, however there was no contract drafted with Air Chimia inc and under Ontario Law, any home reno worth more than $50 must be in writing. There was no receipt for the payments outside of labor made to Air Chimia specifically, no gst/hst/qst numbers, no detailed itemized receipt for the payments made in cash. There was no payment schedule, no work schedule that included start and end dates, no thorough description of the project with details of the work to be done and the materials to be used, no address or contact information. He sent photos through text messages of what he would be using for the shower tile, never brought in a tablet, and did not confirm that he would be using the same tile for the entire bathroom. He was also very defensive and argumentative whenever I would try to address any grievances or issues and it is very hard to understand what he is saying half the time. He did not provide the correct paperwork that should include estimates, contracts, professional licenses or building permit either and instead scribbled numbers onto a piece of paper. Medi was also completing multiple other jobs at the time and did not allocate or dedicate quality workmanship to this job. Overall, I am highly dissatisfied with the work and there has been no attempt on his part to revise or rectify the situation. My family and I were going to try and live with the work but as time went on, it became increasingly uncomfortable to live with this bathroom. Matti does not take accountability or responsibility for his mistakes and instead will try and hide his errors. Matt is incompetent, and not a reputable contractor and should be avoided at all costs.

Problem can occurs on renovation jobs and any job for that matter so it s a foreign concept for it to occur with the vanity detaching from the wall however what is not clear is why Jen decided not to contact handyman Conection compnay and requeste that the office send out someone to reattach vanity. The answer is very simple she chose not to she chose to pay or another contractor to do the work
Handyman provide 1 year labour warranty Jean didn t contact handyman Connection while warranty was valid instead she decide to call other company.

Remaining balance was paid after job completed, Jean sign and her signature on the satisfactory area.
Thank you very much for your time in advance, I take any job personal and would never live any client behind, neither client from handyman connection or my own client.
