Florin Barbu, principal at BCF Contracting group, is the best contractor I have ever worked with and I have worked with quite a few. He is very conscientious, honest, an excellent communicator, attentive and he cares about the work he does. Notwithstanding unforeseen circumstances and slight changes in scope Florin kept the project pretty much on time and on budget. We worked with an architect who is very exacting and Florin rose to the occasion. He was patient and collaborative and made the extra effort to make sure everything was right. General contracting is a really tough job and Florin does it with aplomb. I would not hesitate to recommend BCF and Florin to anyone.

My husband and I hired BCF Contracting Group to renovate the main floor and second floor of our home. This house was built in the 1970's and it looked like not much was done to it since then, so when we moved in we wanted to make major changes, including:

- removing the wall that was separating the kitchen from the bathroom

- putting in new hardwood flooring throughout the house

- changing a window in my dining room to a patio door, so that I can walk out to my backyard

- adding in a patio

- putting in a new modern kitchen

- upgrading my powder room and main bathroom

We were very satisfied with the work completed by BCF Contracting. They really helped us out with selecting finishes that we were very happy with at the end of the project. On top of that, the contractor was very open and honest with us throughout the process. We recommend BCF to anyone that requires a home renovation.

Florin (& Mike) did an amazing job on our 3 story semi. We had them do a full gut and full reno, in 3 phases, while me and my family lived in the house. Florin was profession, reliable, fair and made great recommendations through the project. Although it was a tough go, living through such a substantial and invasive renovation, I am grateful to Florin and his crew and would recommend his services to friends or family.

Our family of five was extremely impressed with the work done by BCF Contracting Group. There were several challenges with renovating our semi-detached inner city home, and we had had negative experiences with contractors before, making us skeptical about beginning the project. However, BCF was able to exceed our expectations by maximizing space and creating an elegant, open living environment. Initially, we had planned on remodelling our basement alone, but after seeing the work ethic of the crew and the beautiful end results, we decided to move forward with a whole home renovation. Throughout the process, Florin was always able to answer our questions and provide us with plenty of options regarding design- he was open to all ideas and gave great advice which allowed us to personalize each room. All the men who worked on our home were polite, professional and cleanly and we were comfortable handing our keys over to every worker. Florin also accompanied us shopping to ensure that we were selecting appliances that were compatible with our kitchen design, saving us a lot of confusion and allowing us to buy what we truly wanted. We were continually updated about timing, and the project was completed on schedule. Several months have passed since construction concluded, and we are still extremely happy with the final outcome. Our experience with BCF Contracting Group was a positive one from start to finish. The company was recommended to me by a relative who lives in Toronto; she knew I was in a big need of renovating the kitchen in our newly bought condo in Montreal. I was a bit nervous when I contacted Florin, because-obviously- I live in Montreal and his business is in Toronto, but I was hoping he will take on our project (because we have heard he did it before for other clients from out of city).

We sent him pictures, we explained our expectations and we were also sincere about our budget. He was a very pleasant and knowledgeable individual to work with. Firstly, he e-mailed us the design he created for us and he helped us tremendously, answering all of our questions and concerns. Meeting him in person, here in Montreal, on the job- was just as positive as the dealing on the phone and over emails was. He went above and beyond to accommodate some of our inquiries, including helping us with ordering materials and giving us numerous ideas of where to spend our money and where we could spend less without sacrificing the end product. Florin (and his crew) was very professional and tidy, they were very skilled in the assembly of the cabinets; needless to add that the workmanship is impeccable. The layout design that Florin himself has created is perfect for our kitchen size and it blends nicely with the rest of the condo. We are so pleased with the results; this company really designed and made our dream kitchen come to light. Florin work in our kitchen included (but was not limited to): design of layout and assembly of brand new cabinets, addition of cabinets on the wall (where there was nothing-previously), ceramic floor and ceramic back-splash, replacing the old, outdated light fixture with newer, modern ones, installed electrical heaters, installation of microwave fan. We would recommend Florin and his team to anyone and we have already friends and family here in Montreal paying a lot of compliments to our kitchen and asking for Florin's business phone number. Prior to starting this project, we talked to several different companies (including Ikea kitchen design and installation team) before deciding on BCF Contracting. In the end, we are so happy we chose Florin's reputation for quality, great work and amazing balanced fees. Given the investment, we wanted to make sure we ended up with a product that we could be proud of-and we did! Thank you, Florin! We can never recommend you enough! We needed some great Ideas to create a working station for 2 computers, who better to call then BCF Contracting Group, This is our third time with Florin, he is always pleasant and professional, neat and on time. I am so thankful he was willing to do a small job, on short notice, we absolutely love it, so much more room and so organized.Cabinets, draws and shelf. I highly recommend Florin to everyone. This is our second experience with Florin. Florin and his team worked hard to have our main floor transformed from a old galley kitchen to our new modern and flowing main floor. We would recommend Florin and have recommended him to many of our friends we give a five star approval. We are looking for our next project of our bathroom and Florin will be our contractor.

Excellent work !!! Very punctual and completed work without delay and as agreed upon timelines. Very courteous and always willing to suggest improvements and assisted in selecting my applianances and colours with regards to painting and floors. Also ensured that the work areas were clean befrore leaving for the day. Excellent quality of work and very professional. They also did their very best to make our renovations stress free. Florin and his team were FANTASTIC!

We contracted Florin to do our basement for the second time in February. He did our old house and we found him on Handy Canadian after a search that included speaking and meeting with more than 20 contractors. We were so impressed with his work that when we moved to our new home we immidiately contacted Florin to complete the basement - without putting the job up for tender. The second time was better than the first. He was on budget, did exceptional work but more importantly bulit a solid relationship with my family. Florin did great work and is worthy of a call for anyone considering a renovation project.

We are pleased with the overall renovation. It feels like we're living in a brand new home. Our reno consisted of installing hardwood floors throughout, tiles in the entryway, powder room and laundry room, refinishing our existing oak stairs as well as a total kitchen renovation. The stairs are a wonderful focal point in our entryway and our custom kitchen far exceeded our expectations. Florin and his team were very approachable and they were always available to address any issues that would arise. They offered constructive and creative suggestions throughout the project to ensure that the end product was uniquely ours. We would definitely use BCF Contracting again in the future.

I am very pleased with the work done by Florin and his team in my place. I got what I wanted as Florin was able to understand my requirements and to turn them into a beautiful reallity. A dark, dirty and uncomfortable basement was turned upside down by Florin and has become today a great rental apartment. What I most appreciate from Florin's work is his ability to find solutions to all the problems that came up during the renovation (regulations, plumbing deterioration, etc.). I will definitely call BCF Contracting Group again if needed.

It was great working with Florin. All work was completed ahead of schedule and communication was excellent throughout the renovation. He also gave no pressure options for upgrades to certain areas of the renovation, some of which we chose and others that we decided were not necessary. One major component of the renovation was a sound proof barrier on the side that joins to the neighbours house. The neighbour could NOT hear anything after testing the sound with a full band. The workmanship was also excellent and our renovation turned out to be a big success

Florin and his team were absolutely fantastic! They are extremely knowledgeable in their field, particularly in our case which was involving elaborate acoustic insulation project.

Florin was excellent to work with. He really became a part of our family (my dog loved him!). He was open to changes along the way and addressed all issues and concerns with professionalism. He would even come out on weekends to deal with any issues that came up. The project didn't come in on time (what project does?) but since we were finishing the basement and not using it, we didn't have too many concerns about the delays. The basement turned out better than I had imagined and all within budget! Looking forward to the next renovation project that I can call him in on.

Florin is a great contractor to work with. He walks you through every steps of the renovation process. If there is a change during the reno, he is willing to work with you to make the change with no hassle. He really wants to make the customer happy. Florin delivers the project on time and in good budget. The renovation that I was working on was for my sister who lives in Toronto. I actually live in California, US. He gave update on the project often even though I am not on site. Overall, my sister and I are happy with Florin's (BCF Contracting Group) work.
