Although our appointment was a bit off, Michael arrived and got straight to work. His assistant was very helpful in getting the job done. What he has done in the bathroom was nothing short of expert! He matched the ceiling as if the whole ceiling was done on the same day! Just thought the cleanup in the bathroom could have been done a little better than it was. As I said to him" I will call you again if I ever need someone to do work for me in the future!"
Thanks again Michael!
"Professional" is probably the best word to describe Hunter Home Essentials Inc. in all its varied meanings. On time and on budget with a creative flair to address the unexpected challenges of bathroom design. I would use their services again in a heartbeat.
I had a 8'x6' bathroom gutted and redone, all I wanted was a large stand up shower, vanity and toilet. Michael was very detailed with his quote and I was able to see the materials that went into the quote.
During the construction I was always informed as to what was being done that day so I could plan my day and the kids knew if the water was going to be off. So the communication was very helpful.
The reno took almost 10 business days and I was very happy with the day to day progress, their was a few hiccups due to the items I bought and the lack of instructions that were given with my purchases. Michael was able to figure things out and adapt to the lack of instructions and utilized his skills.
Overall myself and the kids love the new bathroom, we look forward to getting lots of use out of it and would not have an issue hiring Hunter Home Essentials for another up and coming job in the future. I have also given his name to a friend who is looking to have some bathroom work done.

Hunter Home Improvement did an excellent job installing the bathroom in my basement. They are highly knowledgeable about their work, very professional and within my budget. This addition has definitely added to the value of my home.
Hunter Home Essentials Renovations were the kind of contractors that are very rarely found - gave us prior detailed amount of the cost and, apart from a few dollars, caused by unforeseen extras, kept to the amount in their original written estimate; kept us completely informed about the progress of the renovations; were always courteous, on time and worked diligently throughout; left the area clean every day and available for use whenever possible; kept us informed of any possible problem that might cause any delay, but made sure that it turned into a minimum delay; were conscientious about all the details and finished the work fast, very well done and within the amount of time they had predicted. We were extremely pleased with their work and would have no hesitation in contracting Hunter Renovations for any other work needed at our house and will definitely highly recommend them to our friends.
I liked the fact that I was able to move my washer and dryer and maximize the the space in the basement washroom. I am very happy to get the job done in a very professional, cost effictive, timely, clean, friendly and efficient manner by Hunter Home Improvements.
Michael from Hunter home essentials did a fantastic job with my bathroom renovations , he also solved a very serious leak that had been an ongoing problem for us, and that previous plumbers had failed to resolve .Michael went above and beyond , and I will definitely call him again for any future renovations .absolutely five stars !!!
Michael and his crew were always on time and on budget, the work was very professional. They cleaned up every night before leaving, and removed all scrap from site when complete. I would hire them again for future work and recommend them to family and friends.
Michael came and did some very nice work for us. The completed bathroom looks very nice. No leaks and no issues after the work was complete. The job took 1 or two days longer than anticipated. Our toilet we purchased was broken and we had to return it (not Michael's fault). There was a bit of dirt and dust in our bedroom but that was kept to a minimum. Michael asked us to complete a review for him after the work was done. Based on the quality of the work and his professionalism while working we would give him a rating of 90% or higher.
One sour note. We've been busy over the last week and haven't had time to take pictures of the finished product and as such haven't had time to complete a review. Today Michael texted us and had a small tantrum over the fact that the review hadn't been completed yet. He told us to not bother reviewing and to not contact him in the future. Seems odd as the quality of his work was very good, price very reasonable and his attitude while working was very good. Its too bad our experience was soured by his text.
Hi, this is Michael Hunter, owner of Hunter Home Improvements.
I absolutely love giving people good value! And I don't mind taking a cut in profit to sometimes help someone who really needs a financial break or to solidify a relationship for future business. This lady is supposed to be a real estate professional who really took me for a ride with promises of things she had no intention of delivering just to get a good deal. I apologize for not having more patience for someone who blatantly lies to mislead or abuse. I guess I need to learn how to deal with that better, but I gave this lady the very best and kept my word to the very end.
I made the time to go way beyond for what she paid for, always showed up on time, did what I said I would do, and treated her home as if it was my own. I won't get into all the issues, she did not treat me bad, she just lied. After I finished the job to her own satisfaction and made $10 per hour on it, I didn't get an email, phone call, or any response for weeks as to wether she would keep her word on giving a review. After making no money, at least I would have the consolation of that, so I thought.
So, I decided I would not do any more work for her in the future since she could not be trusted. Not because she didn't give a review, but because she said she would, after I gave the lowest bathroom renovation price in the world and still did top-dollar quality work.
I texted, emailed and called her many times, and she replied not once over weeks. So my tantrum as she calls it , was this; I texted one last time and said, "Please do not ever call me again in the future for any thing." That's it.
I simply choose not to do business with people with people I don't trust, and I let her know that. And there are other reasons I will not mention why I will not work for her again.
In closing, yes being in business means you need to go though a lot of challenges from people, but if it is at all possible, even as a contractor, we are humans with families to feed too and would like to be treated with the same fairness, dignity, and honesty as our customers expect from us. That's all.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this rebuttal.
Michael and his team finished our basement for us. The work they did was better than anything I expected. They went the extra mile, were pleasant, cleaned up the area each night, were friendly, helpful and just plain wonderful. They kept on budget, helped us out with a few extra projects. They worked hard and the quality of their work was excellent. We still have a couple of projects to do around our house and I won't hesitate to use Michael and his team again. I recommend them to anyone who needs work done in their house. Great job guys! Thank you for making our basement a great place for our family to hang out!! Jackie
