There is nothing fancy about James. If you want a good job at a fair price James Contracting is who you want to do the work.
I have had James Contracting do two projects for me, both were done on time and on budget. A basement renovation in 2015 and an Allan Block wall in 2017. James is consistently on time, shows up when he says he is going to and keeps working until the job is complete. If there are changes to be made, no problem, James adjusts his plans and is willing to make whatever changes are needed.
I would recommend James for honest, fair, and reliable contractor.
James was contracted to install a shower base, move the taps from bath to shower only and tile the shower stall. The shower base was installed without the concrete floated below, as the instructions indicated. This required further work from the crawl space to correct. The tap was installed in an awkward spot relative to the decorator tiles. The quality of tile installation was such that we met with James and instructed him to remove several tiles and reinstall. The grout work required several corrections due to missed areas. We had to buy an extra box of tiles to make up for those lost. The specialty toilet seat received severe damage from tools/supplies being dragged across without being protected. This had to be replaced. The path through the house was not protected and each day there was a mess left for us to clean. The fire alarm was activated when he chose not to fill the wet saw with water so he could finish more quickly.Fhe shower base was chipped in 2 spots and one tile replace was chipped. I would be hard pressed to recommend this contractor for any work.

Initially, I worked alongside an experienced senior who mentored me for thirty years before retiring; however, I still seek his guidance when necessary. During that time period, Keremeos became my base since it is where we both resided and worked. Subsequently though we relocated to Penticton as a family unit but occasionally clients from Keremeos reach out whenever they need assistance.
My aim is to provide exceptional and prompt service that meets the highest standards for all my clients, whether they are new or returning. My expertise lies in a range of trades such as bathroom and kitchen remodeling, floor installation including tiling, laminate, hardwood and linoleum. Additionally I excel at stucco works using materials like cement and acrylics along with grid wire application. Plumbing services include roughing-in work for houses to installing toilets or sinks; small repairs can also be accommodated if needed. Concrete pouring is another specialty where I can install foundation forms, patio forms or even create staircase forms before finishing with either a smooth or broom finish depending on your preferences. In addition to these offerings, have experience building garages, workshops sheds & gazebos which includes completion up-to lockup stage or beyond by doing excellent stucco applications, staining etcetera.
I strive for excellence in my handyman tasks and inform customers if a job is beyond my expertise. I meticulously prime and finish every detail of painting jobs, while remaining calm towards any complaints as they will live with it long-term. For drywalling, hang the boards and tape them until priming condition. Contact me during our meeting to discuss other services or pricing based on project size.
