Absolute nightmare. Do not hire this company. They charge by the hour, and will take as much time as they possibly can.
The first person to blame is the person who did my quote. I explained my move in great detail. Fairly easy move of 8 desks, 6 chairs, 2 small cabinets, and 1 conference table. They described this as a "small move" on my booking although the desks are fairly large, and listed a "box truck" on my booking. They must've sent their "small move crew" because the 2 guys were incompetent and were not cut out for the size of these desks. They also did not bring tools, I had to lend them my tools, even though I told the quoter that disassembly is required.
They arrived on time at 9am, in a small van, not a box truck. I immediately told them that the van would not work. They came inside, I showed them all the furniture that needs to be moved, they took 1 bracket off of 1 desk then left to go get a box truck. They came back at 10:30am. They were incredibly slow. It took 4.5 hours to load up everything I listed, and I had to assist them in lifting and loading some pieces because they were incapable.
When we arrived at the drop off location around 3:15pm, they first unloaded the two cabinets. It took them both 20 minutes to get 1 of the drawers back into the cabinet. At that point I told them to stop and don't worry about assembly, because at this rate, it was going to be dark before the truck was even unloaded. I gave them a drawing and asked them to put the desks in place according to the drawing. They were not capable of reading the drawing. As soon as they put the first desk in the wrong spot, I told them I would take care of it and they just need to finish unloading the truck. They finished unloading at 6pm.
Here's where it gets worse. The mover sent me my invoice, with a start time of 9am. I told him that the invoice is incorrect because they arrived unprepared, and not a single desk was moved until 10:30am. He called his manager, and explained the situation. I then spoke with the manager on speaker phone, on the movers phone. I explained the poor quality of service I received, described the incompetence of the movers, and false start time they put on the invoice. While I was explaining this to the manager, one of the movers raised his voice and repeatedly called me rude and a liar for describing the situation from my perspective. I told him that I'm not trying to hurt his feelings, I'm just being honest, and he should leave this up to me and his manager to sort out. At one point the mover grabbed the phone out of my hand and shouted "why do you keep lying". I was alone, and I felt threatened, so I agreed to pay just so I could go home, and get both of the movers out of my office. Thankfully they corrected my invoice to 11am start time, however the manager James did not care that they were not able to complete the job in 9.5 hours total, and wasn't willing to compensate me further, or at the very least, apologize. My furniture is still in pieces, and I will have to hire someone else to finish. Not to mention all the lifting I had to do myself. The movers also complained various times about how heavy the desks were and how hard the job was. That is not my problem, and if if the desks were light, I would've just rented a Uhaul for $40 and done it all myself, but since I hired OOMovers, I had to move the desks myself anyways. I received quotes from 3 other companies who all estimated the job should be completed in 3-5 hours.
Their 24/7 customer support line is a lie. They don't answer their phone past closing hours. "Owner Operated" is a complete hoax, my movers seemed like temp contractors. Don't fall for any of their marketing. $1084 lesson learned.
They say hindsight is 20/20. That could not be more true. I should have never went with these movers. Do not trust sandra when she gives you a $300 quote and it ends up being closer to $600.
Movers were 4 hours late. Did not have any moving materials. No blankets, covers, tape, or any ambition to move you.
It is the little things that seperate a good company from a great company.
OO Movers, the definitely put the "OO" in this situation.
Left their boots on and walked everywhere in them, new and old home.
If you are going to rip me off for extra time, don't blame it on getting lost in LeDuc. There is no excuse to get lost in Leduc, especially an hour. You don't have to believe me. OO Movers you should look at the call log on your movers phone.
Dirt and shoe prints on my mattress cover. Thanks OO Movers. I know how you handle people's belongings.
OO Movers, damaged the floors, walls and my furniture.
The icing on the cake they broke a clasp on my new designer bag. I hope they are insured. They have something coming at them. I would not even recommend this service as a donation so someone I did not like.
The worst and the most unprofessional business I've ever encountered across the board. This type of company will sleep sound at night and move on the next day even knowing that they caused a lot of stress, anxiety, and chaos to another human being. Long review but please read all of it. Booked an 11am move. 11:15 no truck on sight so i called OO movers and followed up. Sandra answered and i informed her about it. U know when you're asking someone for help telling them you're in a bad spot and sound like they don't really care because it's you and not them? That's exactly my conversation with her went the whole process. So anyway, i said no truck yet and im feeling stressed out which they should know because they're in this type of business after all. No apologies were said and what i got was a bubbly answer of "Don't fret" and "dont stress out" seriously?? I get that she's cheery because of customer service but read the room y don't ya. I got a call fron the driver and i was told that their truck broke down and needed to get their guys to a new truck and said 1pm for the new schedule. 1:15pm no truck yet again so i called Sandra and a guy answered so i told him whats happening because he sound clueless. He said they'll follow up on the driver. Minutes later i got a call from the driver and he said he'll arrive at 2:30pm. 3pm went and still nothing. Called Sandra and she's trying to point the finger on the moving guys by saying i should follow up with them and "the movers called u already so u should know the status" and another "don't fret you'll be moved today eventually don't worry" Now the timeline's gone and the chances of a truck showing up at night is possible. I cancelled. Called Sandra and this is the only time she apologised when i said my wife's pregnant. She didn't care from the start until i told her that. Here's the kicker, 3 days before moving i called OOmovers and told them i think im gonna need a bigger truck. Sandra said no and medium truck is enough. She knows more than me about my things. On moving day after I cancelled, at 4pm their truck arrived and guess what? Truck is too small to fit my stuff and i know this because the company i hired the next day had a way bigger truck and my stuff was snug in there. Would've caused another headache if i didn't cancelled. You'll notice the negative reviews here are consistent. LATE, NO SHOW, DIDN'T LISTEN ON TRUCK SIZE, BROKEN DOWN TRUCK, ETC. Its easy to do a good job/service. The difference between a good company and a fly-by-night ones is how they handle their mistakes. Good ones will own it, solve it, and build a good rapport with the customer who was done wrong. Bad ones? will do nothing. No apologies, no personal email, doesn't help u on getting another service, nothing. Its been days and they haven't reached out to me yet. Enough proof that they really dont care. Oomovers is a prime example of a bad company. And don't give me a template response of "I, John the owner of business apologize.." and "We are always looking for ways to better.." Actually do something about it!! Hate is a strong word but that's how i felt towards them on that day but u know what? I still don't want that same experience happen to them or their family. That's how worst that day was. I don't want to wish it even to people i dont like. I will never ever refer them to anyone i know and to anyone who thinks of hiring them. Especially on internet threads
Worst customer service EVER when things went wrong which they did - slow costly move and damaged boxes. Then to add injury to insult the owner JOHN ANTHONY called to berate me!! I kid you not. WORST EVER EXPERIENCE AND TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. Do yourself a favour and hire someone else for your move!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I was quoted $2500 for my move. The day of the move they showed up with a small truck which couldn’t fit all my things. So I had to stay another day costing me money. Then they said that I have more things then they thought and wanted more money. They estimated that I had 10,500 pounds and wanted $8,000 instead of the $2,500 they quoted me. Which when it was actually weighed I only had 5,900. They told me they weren’t going to deliver my things unless I paid them more money. They finally agree to deliver my things and didn’t show up and nobody called me to notify me. I got a call the next morning stating they’d be here in a few hours. There was several items damaged in the move but they refuse to compensate me unless I pay them the extra money they tried to extort from me. Do yourself a favour and use a more honest capable company.
