We were completely satisfied with the work Chris did laying laminate flooring in our living room and dining room. He was very thorough and particular about the quality of work he did and it showed! We would strongly recommend Chris for any flooring work anyone in the Durham Region needs to have done.
Thanks for your kinds words and feedback, Rebecca. It was a pleasure working for you on your flooring job. We hope that you will contact us again for any renovation job that you may have in the future! I have posted a photo of your living room area after we installed your hand-scraped laminate.
All the very best, Chris.
Chris came across very professional, fair and willing to do our job. Unfortunately after acquiring more than 1/2 the payment for the job, Chris quit via voicemail after completing only 1 days work. He claimed his nailer was broken, but I'm sure we all know you can rent one.. Which is what we had to do to finish our own job!
Don't bother, we learned our lessen!
Hello,
My name is Chris and I am disputing Chandra s claim that I quit her job. My toe-nailer did in fact break down, however, I made two separate trips to Home Depot - once to purchase a new nailer and then had to return that after finding it didn t work. The second trip back to rent a nailer however, they did not have any in stock that day, so I was forced to finish the day and complete the rest of the job that day with my brad nailer.
I had finished the most difficult work that day two transitions and the work around the bottom of the stairs, in addition to a very strenuous 2/3 of the day removing her parquet floor. The estimate for the work I was to do for her turned out to be 150% less than what it was going to take to complete the job. I was not about to rent a toe-nailer the next day (at a cost of $70 plus HST) and return to do further work. I informed her that I wouldn t be able to complete her job on time and that the payment she had made had covered roughly the work that myself and my assistant had completed that day.
I had felt that I needed to do more for Chandra and her flooring circumstance, so I spent over two hours that night phoning and emailing various other flooring companies to find someone to complete the job for her. Two of three companies had promised me that they would call her to discuss what was left to do and indicated that they would complete the work for less than what Chandra would have paid me to complete the second day s work and finish the job. It was to be a two day job.
As she indicated I am very professional and fair, and under the circumstances it was the fair thing for me to do rather than delay her work and the job.
I was most apologetic about the machinery malfunction, but there logistically wasn t anything further I could do. This certainly was a very irregular set of circumstances.
Sincerely,
Chris

Hired this contractor to install our backsplash in kitchen. Specifically the company was Oshawa Tiling not Sturdy Flooring, but it was the same contractor.. The quality of the job overall was poor- did not pay attention to fine details and the level of the tile was off in parts. More importantly he refused to come back and address our concerns. He was very dismissive and put it back on my wife and me. Even after 3 messages, e-mails and a registered letter, he refused to acknowledge our concerns. We would not recommend this contractor, his company to anyone.
When we finished this job, Greg and his wife were ecstatic about the work we did. They had nothing but positive feedback for us and we appreciated that. I have no idea why he (or someone else) posted this negative response. I can only assume it's one of our competitors...
Respectfully,
Chris
