A very bad contractor. Red flags should have gone up when he came for the initial visit and could not show us any of his work because his iPad was mysteriously not working, and he mistakenly thought faux brick wallpaper was real brick. We hired him anyway, (dumb). First day, came to demo the old tub, damaged a wall, smashed a toothbrush holder, left the work site a mess. I cleaned it up after he left. Second visit was from a sub contractor to do the drain. No issues. Third visit was to install drywall, regular drywall when we were promised green board. Couldn't finish the drywall because he was unprepared and did not have the needed parts to do the tub spout. After he left, I had to drywall to tie the new into the old. I then started noticing the issues. We were using a fake marble product from a company called "Mr. Marble". When we showed him the brochure, he did not take an time or interest in it. He assumed the product was 1" thick like real marble, when in reality it is ⅜" thick. As a result, the shower controls were set to stick out too far, and the measurements he gave us to order the walls were too short. When I pointed out in an email that I believed the walls would be too short he got angry and quit. Blaming his breach of contract on the delay in our walls arriving from the manufacturer, but really when I informed him that the walls were only ⅜" thick he realized he had messed up and promptly quit to avoid the need to rectify his errors. Leaving us with an unfinished, unuseable shower. Jake Porter is a very incompetent and childish contractor. Stay far away.
