I had Tip Top Trough come out to Vaughan and do some work in the fall 2014. With the house being 14 years old at the time, I could tell the gutters were full of shingle granules that needed cleaning. The other concern I had was the smaller downspouts the builder put on kept freezing up and cracking the past few winters so I wanted to go bigger and also get an opinion on re-routing one of the downspouts for better/safer drainage. The person who quoted me, explained how the job would go and after receiving the quote, I was ready to book the work. 2 man team came out and cleaned everything out showing me a bucket full of sand after, matched the colour of new pipes up nice and fixed up a couple of leaky corners we didn't know about. Great clean up and follow up after from the office. Thanks again.
We have had an issue with eavesdrop where in the water was leaking and falling on our stairs and icing up quickly in winter creating hazardous issue. We waited till summer and engaged this firm.
They came by on June 8th cleaned and when I asked about the leak, they mentioned that its not an issue anymore as it has been cleaned. Come again Nov 10th it snowed and the leak continues to exist. We called them to help out, and they mention that they "did what they said they will do". Will yes that is true the leak issue was not solved. Use them if you know what is required, but dont if you need somebody with good advice. They do not take any accountability. All I need is help to fix it and I am willing to pay the fair share. The reprsentative on the phone was not at all helpful. you can call me back.
Addition
Thank you for the detailed response, thank you for acknowledging that we had called about the leak you "advised" to go with a cleaning. however given this is a public forum need to clarify a few things
#1 When the job was completed, I was present and it was shown to time. Infact I chatted with Brazilian gentlemen as to how Neymar was not meant to be a Goat. The did showed what you mentioned
#2 while they showed it was hard to distinguish between flowing water and water leaking. same happened in July, it hard to distinguish between raining water and Leaking water. This was more evident when it snowed and created "hazardous" situation on the stairs
#3 you mention in this write up of offering a solution and me wanting it right away: you mentioned that this would require caulking/sealant and that this would have to wait till spring. I did not want right away, but by next week when it is still positive temperature
#4 I first called in the morning and the lady mentioned somebody will call me back, it was not until I followed up that you answered the call
All we need is the leak to be fixed as you acknowledged, have a look, provide your quote and take it from there.
We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with your eavestroughs. I tried to explain to you on the phone that the service we provided five months ago was an eavestrough cleaning service. When your wife called in origianlly she mentioned that there was a leak in the front of the house that she wanted fixed. When we asked when was the last time she cleaned the eaves, she said - not in at least 4 years. We suggested that the leak might be a result of a clog and that we should start with a cleaning service as we provide a very detailed and thorough cleaning, including an inspection of the overall system.
Upon completion of our cleaning service; the team communicated to your wife that the leaking was a result of a clog in the downpipe. In other words water was unable to clearly pass through. They showed her that the eaves were no longer leaking, after having cleared the downpipe. You may also want to note that July was a record month for precipitation in Toronto. If the issue was an actual leak in your eavestroughs, you would have contacted us prior to November 15th.
When you called demanding that we come out and fix the leak right away, we asked if you had cleaned your eaves since the summer. You replied "No"
I tried to communicate that since you have a large tree on your property and the Autumn season has brought wind storms with falling leaves; this issue will continue to persist if the eavestroughs are not cleaned frequently.
I was about to provide the solution of increasing the size of your downpipe because a larger downpipe is more efficient in clearing leaf debris, however you hung up on me.
We are happy to help you with this solution, kindly give us a call if you are interested.
I needed a small repair in the roof and hired tip top trough for the job since they offered the best price. My issue was a small hole which needed repair due to birds entering and building a nest. Tip top troughs came exactly when they said they would and completed the job. I was happy with the services and price.
We have used Tip Top Trough for our eavestrough cleaning recently and we are very happy with the service. They handled our inquiries promptly and in a professional manner, be it online, over the phone or in person. The team did a good job, they were efficient, and cleaned up well at the end. Reasonable pricing and they offered recommendations for further service without pressure. Thank you! We will be using this service again.
I looked at using a trusted contractor to help with a number of projects on two different homes that my family owns. With the first one, we had to disconnect two downspouts and also reroute the entire eavestrough to the back of the house. With the second, we had to complete regular maintenance and cleaning of the roof gutters.
Both projects were organised efficiently and professionally and the teams that came out were pleasant and easy to deal with. Would definitely recommend them.
This was the first time we used Tip Top Trough. We needed two downspouts replaced and from the quotation to the actual installation their team was very professional and helpful. They even made recommendations as to where we could save money. Not very often that you hear this.
We highly recommend this company!
We own a rental property in Toronto, but live three hours away. We rely on contractors who are honest, efficient and capable. As soon as our tenant mentioned the problem with our eavestrough, we contacted Tip Top Trough through their online site. When they came to assess the issue, it was more complicated than just a clog in the eavestrough. Pierce was so helpful and patient in explaining the total problem to me, and promised to make the necessary repairs. It’s been about six weeks since they were here, and there is no dripping and it is completely fixed. They were great. Highly recommend this company for their outstanding work and warranty.
