We hired Uptrends Development back in August after signing a contract with Sri back in Aug. Its Oct 25 and only stairs inspection and plumbing inspection has been done.
Sri is very unresponsive and he does not have a dedicated team of trades as he promised. Project has been constantly delayed with struggle to find a plumber and now since last 3 weeks, he is not able to find a licensed electrician. The subcontractor he hired to complete our separate entrance stairs did not do the job properly and the cleanup was not completed. Sri when he did show up works for only few hours.
Sri does not return our messages and our phone calls and has not responded to my calls or messages since past few weeks.
I am not sure if he will be completing this job which as per contract should have been completed last week.
Please save yourself the headache and chasing and don't hire Sri. I am now chasing him for damages and money he took without completing the job

Although my partner and I are relatively happy with our new bathroom, we have some trouble with the quality of the work, and communication, in particular. Painting was sloppily done, some of the drywall has nicks that weren’t smoothed over, and Sri’s poor placement of the washer/dryer connection to the wall means it sticks out too far. In addition, Sri rarely communicated accurately with us throughout the renovation. For example, he said we’d be without a toilet for 2 days, but it turned into 6. He’d tell us he was coming at 8:30 or 9am, but show up closer to 11. One day he texted that he was taking a day off, but had not told us ahead of time.
Perhaps most frustrating for me was the incorrect shower head he installed. When I complained about it, rather than changing it, he got defensive, saying I had approved it (he had showed it to me quickly one day on his phone). I assumed he’d thoroughly understood what we wanted, so I thought I was looking at colour or aesthetics, not the included components. This makes it hard for us to clean our tub, which I explained at the time.
Although Sri and his helper did try to clean before they left, my partner and I had to spend hours scrubbing our living room floor, where tape residue had been left, and we found a spot where paint had spilled and had to use a toothbrush to remove most of it. They had not mentioned the paint spill at all, leaving it for us to deal with. Thankfully Sri had left a bottle of cleaner we were able to use, but they could have been much more careful and thorough themselves. Now, 6 weeks after our renovation, we’re having trouble with the drawers on our vanity. I’ve contacted Sri 3 times - text, phone and email - and have not heard back. I fear we’re now on our own.
If you want to hire Sri, I recommend you fight harder than we did for careful finishing, and choose your own components. This was our first renovation, so perhaps we were too naive and did not stand up enough for ourselves. Ah well, lesson learned.
Thank you for the review. But there is always 2 sides to a story. This renovation was done at a condo downtown. We were limited with use of the elevator. When I do washroom renovation, I do things in order so I don t run into any problems. Client insisted I installed the toilet next day. I don t install Toilet before tiling the floor and having the tub installed. I had the plumber scheduled to do rough in plumbing and he wasn t able to do the work as scheduled because the tub that was bought by the owner was incorrect(wrong size). The tub that was requested by the client was sold out. It took me some time to find the tub that was requested. I had to reschedule the plumber. This work was done during covid and materials were not in stock. I ve done my best to give the toilet soon as possible. I ve explained to them and at that time they were ok with it. So I am not sure why complaint now. All work was completed within the agreed time frame. Both occupants of the unit worked from home, and many time I was told to stop work because they had phone meetings. I ve done everything that was agreed on contract and I have done extra work which I did not charge. Location of the washer dryer was there choice. I ve done the work as per the contract agreement. After the tiling work completed they complained about the shower faucet. I offered to add an adapter to have hand held shower, they refused. I was called back to fix caulking issue which was caused by them. They installed a pressure rod that pushed the tub so hard that the caulking tore. I went back and fixed it. They called again to have a switch cover installed which was not part of the washroom work. But again I went and did the work. After a month they messaged me saying one of the drawer on the vanity isn t closing properly. When the work was completed, they inspected and signed off all work completed. I can t fix wear and tear.
They are upset about that and trying to put a bad name on my company.

Sri did a fantastic job with the project. We were looking to revamp our existing finished basement with new flooring, lighting/electrical, painting and adding a bedroom. Sri produced exactly what we envisioned and gave his ideas throughout the project.
Good quality of work and is a hard worker. We had a separate kitchen person come in and Sri was accommodating of that. He doesn't only project manage, but also did a lot of the hands on work.
He is very reasonable and transparent with pricing and went above to make sure we were happy with the results. He even came back after finishing the project to do final touchups. Good overall quality of work and flexible with exactly what we wanted.
Given how busy the summer season was for home projects, there was a slight delay but it did not matter as much as long as the project got completed and Sri always kept in constant communication with us and was professional with the way he worked.
Highly recommend Sri and look forward to working with him on future projects.

We can't thank Sri and his team enough for the work they have done for us. Sri was very professional, and prompt, and communicated with us all the time. The work was done quickly and on budget. Further, Sri provided constant guidance and recommendations that not only helped us save money, but helped exceed our expectations on the final project.
We added a new walk-in closet, and redid the walls to our basement bedroom. This included a new ceiling with smart-technology enabled potlights, and new floor moulding. We added new flooring to our entire basement, including into our furnace room. This room now has potlights, new walls and cupboards as well a new sink. It's like we have a brand new laundry room.
Lastly, we needed to replace much of the basement washroom, so we have a brand new shower stall that will no longer leak water. We took the opportunity to make some other much needed upgrades to our washroom.

Uptrends Development Group did a tremendous job for our bathroom renovation. Sri gave a very reasonable estimate for the renovation work, and that helped us to add the new staircase installation for the basement as the part of the project. They stayed within their estimated budget, very clean work, and completed on time. I am also very pleased that they followed up upon finishing the project to check the full functionality of the bathroom.
I am very glad that I found Uptrends Development group through Trustedpros for the renovation project, and I will definitely call Sri for any future work.
