Excellent, knowledgeable, friendly service, very reasonable rates. Rob accommodated us even though we contacted him in the last minute, and offered to come in on a holiday. Promptly returned calls and kept us updated. We were very satisfied and will definitely use Wrightway again.
I recently commissioned Rob Wright to tape and mud the drywall installed in my basement project. I am pleased with the work he did and impressed with the results in the areas that I was anticipating some problems with. All the joints were seamless and there was minimal dust and debris created during the process. I would definitely recommend Rob to anyone else looking for the same type of service. Rob is an honest and reliable man who sticks to his word.
From initial consultation to finished product the service was excellent.
This was not an easy project. The utmost care was taken to protect the area around the work. We are thrilled with the end result that was done at a very reasonable price.
Many thanks to Rob and his team. We look forward to using his services again.
Rob did a great job on this project which involved removing two cupboards above a new frig to accommodate the extra height. Using existing materials & a few new pieces of wood, he designed an elegant shelf with a round edged frame at the top & sides, painted to match the other cupboards. I have put some cookbooks in this space & some attractive nic-knacks.
Rob first came to give me a quote on drywalling a number of rooms and removing the popcorn from some of our ceilings. He was one of three quotes that I gathered. He was very polite on the phone and in person and came over on the day that I called. We decided to use one of the other quotes for the popcorn removal as they said that they were specialists. Unfortunately, this turned into a disaster as the person we used was very unreliable and allowed the job to run on for over a week and a half - when it should have taken a couple of days. I had already asked Rob to help with our drywalling so, when he heard about the problems we were having, he was able to bring in someone to finish it for us. Rob is a good communicator and hard worker and has been trying to help us finish off a number of areas in our house even after he has worked a full day somewhere else. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Rob was initially hired in the fall of 2013 for a flooring job. Rob was to start in February 2014 however due to scheduling conflicts, we had agreed upon a later date. Since part of the reno involved tiling an accent wall in the living room, he agreed to do this first since it would not take long. This, unfortunately, turned out to be a nightmare. There were complications along the way with the new fireplace however his gas fitter friend (Dzenan) turned out to be a god send. After the fireplace issue was resolved, the accent wall was ready to be completed. However, it never was. When Rob learned that I had hired someone else for the flooring job, he stiffed me with the accent wall even though he was paid in full for it and even though he said he would complete it. In fact, on the morning that he was to finish the job, he e-mailed me to say that he would no longer be able to assist me. I had to hire someone to professionally clean the tiles on the accent wall because they were so full of grout that they had lost their sheen. My painter repaired the 2 walls, which Rob was paid to do. So unforutnately, my experience with Wrightway Renovations was less than positive. It was truly disastrous.

I am sorry that your experience with me did not meet your expectations. A project that I was doing was taking longer than anticipated and I agreed to do the tile wall on my days off.
The existing wall had to be demolished and moved forward 4 inches and you and I had agreed to do this work on an hourly basis due to the nature of it. The new gas fireplace had numerous issues that were being addressed by my gas fitter in a diligent fashion. I also attended your home on two occasions when your concerns were made known to me.
Once the fireplace was working properly it was time to repair the drywall and paint as indicated above. Where your version differs from mine is as follows:
I tiled the wall which was 14 feet high and involved numerous trips up and down a 10 foot ladder. I charged you $5 per square foot for a job that should have been $10 plus (my mistake). The tiles used used were a shiny porcelain that were very porous. It is true that grout did contaminate the tile even after the tiles were cleaned in the usual fashion.
I came back the next day and spent 7 hours with a brass brush and cleaned the entire wall inch by inch. Your friend, the HVAC guy and my painter all had a look at the wall after and the consensus was that it looked great. You stood there with me and agreed that the wall looked fine.
With regards to the wall repair, I advised you that I would be back on the clock (hourly rate) to finish the repair at which time you did not feel that you should pay any more for this work.
It is simply not true that I was paid for the drywall and paint work. I was clear that this portion of work would be on an hourly basis.
I went into great detail in my response because of the language you used on this review. Language such as "Fiasco" and "Truly Disastrous" are unfair in my opinion, and the comment that I "Stiffed you" is not true.
The truth is that WrightWay Renovations made every effort to meet your expectations and unfortunately was unable to do so.
Initial contact with Rob occurred in an emergency situation. Rob went above and beyond to ensure that the required prep was done quickly and correctly. After the pipes were replace, Rob restored the ceilings and walls to their original state - the quality of the work was excellent, and the price was more than reasonable. Combine this with the fact that Rob is so completely easy to deal with - calling him the next time I need some work done is a no-brainer.
I can't tell you how much I appreciated Rob's work. This job was not huge; in fact, most contractors who responded to my request were really only interested in the prospect of getting my basement renovation contract. A couple came by to look and, although they promised quotes, Rob was the only one who stuck with me on this "pre-job"! I appreciate that.
Rob Wright skept in touch with me while I thought about different options and always responded very quickly to any questions I had.
I believe that relationships are an important part of the contractor-client dynamic and Rob understands this as well!
I would not hesitate to recommend Rob and he will have the first option to provide a quote for my basement in the next couple of weeks!
Robert was wonderful to deal with. He had to do a lot of filling of holes and cracks and sanding to prepare our room for painting. The painting was done very professionally and thoroughly and Robert's attention to detail made a huge difference. Our room looks terrific! Robert cleaned up the room thoroughly. We have a lot more work that we are planning to do to our home and we will definitely be calling Robert.

Thanks for the opportunity to work on your Historical Home. I enjoyed working with you and look forward to creating more space in the upstairs knee walls when you are ready.
