Hi all,
I am just in preliminary stage of an ensuite bath and have a question about venting for a bathtub, which may ultimately deem where it will be located in the room.
The room is now empty with existing waste and vent pipes in one wall (existing bath is in room adjacent right now). I am hoping to install a free standing tub near exterior wall of this room which is 12' x 12'.
If I place the tub where I want, it will be beyond the normal 5' max for the vent pipe connection as I understand it. It would be about 9 ft to existing stack between the joists and 6 ft from the 2 interior walls across joist direction. Is it possible to vent horizontally under joists to bridge this 9 ft distance?
This is a little beyond my venting knowledge and any ideas on how to accomplish this would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Randy, why the double post? You got lots of good answers on the one you did on the 25th.
