Duct cleaning advantages

Yes it is very important to have your ducts cleaned on a regular basis. Note that the average home can collect 40 to 60 pounds of dust in the duct work yearly .. this comes from everyday activities such as doors and windows being open, loose fibres from carpeting and furniture, dead skin cells, pet dander, lint etc .. the dust in your duct work eventually becomes staler and staler as it rotates through your home, also note that the dust can also settle in your Furnace and Air Conditioner which will effect the performance of the units , example , clogged coil on the inside part of your Air Conditioner can cause lack of cold air, leaking water etc ..

Although there are different methods of cleaning that are available, it is recommended that when you have the ducts cleaned you do so by having a company that cleans the entire length of duct work rather than just vacuuming around the mouth of the register. A proper duct cleaning will remove all of the dust that has settled in your duct work . For Example when we clean your system, we attach our vacuum hoses to the main trunks , both supply and return lines and we use compressed air to blow down from each and every register in your home which then blows into the vacuum so that we can extract all dust from the entire system ... a process like this can take 2 to 4 hours depending on the size of your home, number of registers and cold air returns ... when needed we also use a snake system that will pull back any larger pieces of debri so that we can extract them properly. Once done, your entire duct work will be nice and clean, the air quality certainly improves as it is now fresher ...
