Existing stucco exterior - options for new facade

We have a mid 90s built house. It is styrofoam wrapped ( I think 2 ) and covered in stucco. We are wanting to redo the front facade, and repaint the remainder. Will everything require removal of the existing stucco. We are considering a combo of two finishes of the following acrylic stucco, hardie board, metal siding, stone. (Preference right now being metal and acrylic).

We are also needing to do roof, soffit and facia, windows and doors and may be utilizing more than one contractor to complete the project. Roof - soffit and fascia - windows and doors - stucco and siding as the order?

Yeah you need to remove everything back down to the sheeting if I'm understanding you correctly. I assume you are redoing without stucco. The type of project and cost you wouldn't want to do it any other way. Getting back down to the structure is the soundest way to do it fix anything that needs to be repaired then build back out from there. Sounds like a great job. Enjoy. Thanks Norm. South shore siding

Thanks Norm

We are considering stucco moving forward as well, preferably a smooth stucco. The house currently has metal channels running around the house that end at the corner columns. We would like to remove the column detail, and the metal channels on the front of the house. We were just curious if we are taking everything down regardless of what we are going back with etc.
