Garage door

How do I make it much easier for me to lift up and down my 1 car steel garage door.

Apart from using WD 40 on the rollers/sides etc..

As for WD 40, where should I apply WD 40 and how often? Areas?

I do not want an automatic garage door due to safety concerns.

Thanks

Easiest way to reduce the lifting requirements would be to have the springs adjusted which means calling in a pro. Keep in mind though, this will add more tension to your springs which can potentially reduce their life expectancy.

Short of that, lubricate the rollers (only at the axle where they rotate). Wipe any excess overspray. This additional lubrication won't make much difference to the ease of lifting and will only collect dirt and dust over time.
