I am planning a reno for our master bathroom and although I'll hire an electrician to do the wiring, I am wondering if a hard wired towel warmer rack can be installed under a bathroom window? Assuming it is far enough from the shower, etc and is on a circuit that is protected with a GFCI outlet upstream from the rack?
Installing a towel warmer under a window is allowed.
Hi Scott,
A licensed electrician will be able to install your hard wired towel warmer under the window - we do it all the time.
A few things to consider:
1. depending on the model, a dedicated line may need to be run to the panel
2. a GFCI breaker can be installed at the panel
3. the unit comes out from the wall about 4" and with towels it could be 6"
Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions,
Dan
