I need to know where a good starting point is. I had a tree fall and take down my fence. I would like the tree removed with roots and a 6ft-30ft fence installed. Would like to start calling some contractors but I have no idea what this would cost.
How tall is the tree? And your looking 30 feet of fence done with 6x6 post? What type of wood?
We don't service Hamilton, however to give you a point to start, is that this would normally be 2 different contractors in order to get the best value.
If the tree is large you will want a certified arborist with a climber on staff to take the tree down section by section. Afterwards, they would need to 'grind' the stump. That is what chews up the roots underground normally to 12" below surface.
Afterwards you will have some clean up of the yard to take away or place the mulch from the grinding somewhere.
The best time to remove the tree is now while there is still frost in the ground. makes less mess.
Then you will need a fence contractor or general handyman skilled in carpentry to repair/replace the fence.
