What do you think will happen!?

Ok I have recently posted about a tile job with an absolute extremely difficult customer, anyways long story short I finished tiling the shower and grout it and laid ditra for the tile bathroom floor, she again complained about some grout issues which I put in the invoice I was not to be held responsible for tile lippage or grout related issues, ( absolutely no pleasing this customer) there was also a wide grout line in one corner because I could not cut a tile small enough to fit there which I explained to her and she said it was fine and then I grout it and she can't comprehend it , anyways upon explaining this and being at my wits end I have decided not to start/finish the tile floor job and repaid them the deposit for the floor and keeping the materials cost for shower and floor as well as the labour I have done, I have took tons of pictures and videos of the work I have completed and was very nice in my email explaining why I can no longer work under the circumstances, I'm just curious if they decided to take this to court for say breach of contract or bad work (which is BS it is one of the best showers I have done I even went above and beyond because I knew how picky they were) would anything hold up in court for them?

I'm trying to end things on somewhat good turns by not wanting the remaining payment and repaying them the deposit for the floor, seriously not a bad guy just some people are insane to deal with especially when I know for 100% more problems will arise from them

Hey Jason,

I had a similar issue this past week that I spoke with my lawyer about.

Long story short, nothing stops someone from filing a small claims suit, but based on your explanation you've got nothing to worry about.

Do your best to make notes of these interactions you've had with the client. Back up your photos and videos. Reality is the outcome in court if it should get there will be effected by your presentation and explanation of events and your efforts to remedy any issues. In the end though it is the judge who has the final say and depending on his experiences. Good luck with it.

I also have commercial general liability insurance which should cover me if they did try and pursue the whole cost of the shower/floor
