What would the cost be to put 2 egress windows in a poured concrete wall
The house is brick clad and both windows would be in the same side of house about 15 ft apart
The basement is unfinished at this time
Excess to the back wall is limited
No services or electrical in the way either
To start with, it would be necessary to determine what there is for load above each of these windows. A best case scenario might be that it is a gable end of the house with the floor joists running parallel to the outside wall of the new windows. This way, getting additional support in place to carry the minimal load over the window will be relatively simple. This needs done prior to cutting the concrete out of the window opening. Worst case (when I say worst, I mean bad because there can always be worse situations in renovations) this wall carries all roof and floor load, floor needs temporarily supported to cut joists back, more significant beam required to bear the load, and joists hangared off said beam.
That's the long answer.
The short answer is 500-2000 for framing depending what the status of the floor is. Ideally, an engineer gives the nod on structural soundness of the plan (more cost here, but also peace of mind)
Perhaps 1000-1500 for concrete cutting and removal if it is relatively straightforward
window cost 3-600 depending on quality plus install.
All totalled: 2000-6000. I wouldn't recommend assuming it would be the best case either.
If you think in the $4000 range and keep some flexibility in mind, you should be good. It's the reason most folks who renovate basements, do not touch the windows - not a cheap endeavor. Please be sure the guy doing the work knows what he's doing - this can be very bad very quickly if corners are cut.
I would Supply the windows cut the concrete install the windows for approximately $3,400.00 If a steel lintel is required above the windows an additional $275per steel lintel to supply and install. Hope this helps you out
