What years were GFIs required in
1) bathrooms with showers,
2) kitchens,
3) crawl spaces,
4) garages
Any modifications require GFCI's in bath and kitchens. never in crawl spaces or garages unless near sinks, tubs, or wet locations.
No requires of GFCI protection in a crawl spaces or garages unless near (5' and less) sinks and tubs, or wet locations.
Hi Elizabeth
Going from memory, but I remember putting GFCIs in bathrooms I would guess in the mid 80's.
I believe that GFCI for kitchens came out in 2012, might have been the cycle earlier... 2012 might have been the AFCI introduction.
GFCI has never been required in crawl spaces or in garages unless they are in a "wet location".
Cheers
