Just wondering if i need to put a gasket between the floor and the 2x4 plate?
Hi Blaire.
Absolutely. Wood should not come in contact with concrete. The wood stud wall would also have to be set off from the concrete wall as well. As an alternative, you can install Typar (reverse) on the wall then construct the stud wall and insulate. Or if you want a complete thermo break, install 2" rigid insulation on the wall and build you stud wall in front. For the later, you would not use batt insulation in the stud cavity.

Thanks Glenn!!!
Hi Blair,
You would definitely need a gasket between the floor(concrete) and the base plate. As an alternative, you could use a subfloor system such as DriCore. If this is used, you don't need a gasket between the subfloor and the base 2 x 4, as the walls would be constructed on top of the subfloor.

Absolutely...always use a gasket for framed walls.
