Cost for updating my breaker panel from 100 to 200

Hi some electricians will do it from $2,500 but the average is usually around $4,000 and up depending on the company and any issues

Hello Les

It is impossible for anyone to provide a detailed estimate until they complete a site visit.

Some of the main considerations are:

Overhead or underground;

Number of circuits;

Is 200 amp available from your utility;

Location of your existing panel in relation to the meter socket; and

Condition of your existing bonding and grounding system.

Outside of this is the current shortage and premium of material.

Right now at $2500 dollar figure would not be unreasonable for an off-the-shelf service upgrade. I agree with John, because we are doing one right now that is close to $5000 because of a number of unique circumstances with this project.
