How much would it cost me to renovate our basement (of 500 Sq Ft) in Brampton legally of a townhouse. Only for personal use as Rec room, only with a powder room and No Kitchen, No separate entrance.

You can budget $30-$35K materails & labor as a legal basement apartment.

Hello,
We are based out of Winnipeg Manitoba so I am unsure of the cost difference. There are to many variables to review before any costs could be suggested. Spray foam? Ceiling finishing? Flooring? Plumbing rough-in locations being workable?

Previous quotes seem a little light but depends on what you have already in place. You need separate furnace or elec. heating/HRV, windows to egress min., separate parking on property, mechanical room/laundry needs to be fully drywalled to meet fire code as well as ceiling in entire unit, separate entrance to unit to meet fire code, etc., etc...allow from $35,000 min. to $50,000...a secondary suite will cost more than a development just for personal use by quite a bit.
