I am looking at purchasing a home that is in need of renovations. My intention for the main floor is to move the existing kitchen and to enlarge the bathroom and entrance way. This would involve removing a wall or two and changing the plumbing. The basement is without ceiling and therefore the existing plumbing is exposed. The home has original hardwood floors that i would like to keep therefore it would mean trying to match it up as best as possible for flow throughout the main level. This is a very small post war time built home.
I have some upcoming renovations that I would like to complete to my main floor that I am currently interested in a few companies suggestions/ recommendations for my current situation and collecting quotes for the following works:
Two Piece Bathroom/ Entrance:
- Removal of towel bar (dry wall repair)
- Removal and replacement of vanity, light fixtures and mirror
- Installation of new flooring (current laminate to ceramic)
- Painted (roof & walls)
Kitchen:
- Replacement of over head fan for the stove into over microwave/fan (Current issue is the space current in place with the cupboard above does not meet building code, therefore modifications to current cabinet will have to be complete to fit the new microwave/fan unit- I am hoping this is possible)
- Replace counter top
- Installation of back splash (there is none at the current time)
- Installation of new sink/tap
- Installation of new blinds
- Replacement of current dinner light (over kitchen table)
- Installation of new flooring (current laminate to ceramic)
- Painted (roof & walls)
Living Area/ Hall/ Entrance
- Painted (roof & walls)
I currently live in a Townhouse in the south end of Barrie and my plan is to purchase all materials myself such as the micro wave, lighting, mirror, vanity, flooring, back splash, counter top, sink, etc, paint (but that can disused as I can just provide the colours and with the exclusion of tools, nuts/bolts, wire, etc- this to be build into the contractor pricing) my hopes are to have works started within the next month or two.
We have a 19 year old 2000 sq ft two story house and would like to make some cosmetic changes to the main floor area in order to modernize the appearance of the area. These changes would include:
-wainscotting and chair rail installed in the kitchen and hallway
-framing two openings from the hall and kitchen to the living room
-installing new door to closet in front entranceway
-install crown moulding in living room
-install new baseboards in living room, kitchen and hallway.
-painting hallway both upstairs and down (optional)
Purchased a home,
Mudroom off the Front Entrance needs the front to be levelled, and the sides to be sealed from the elements.
2" Difference between the front to the back end of the mudroom.
Mudroom is approximately 8'x8'
Mudroom is Accessible by the sides (Lattice work covering sides.
Cement Steps in front.

We are the tenant and are making a storage space into an office. Box in the phone panel and build a small closet in corner under boxed panel. New floor - currently ceramic tile 4 X 8.5" - (counted 26 tiles width and 20.5 tiles length) and paint the space. Additionally, we would like our bathroom floor replaced - currently 12 X 12 vinyl tiles (counted 8 tiles length and 5 tiles width). Potentially three inside doors replaced.
Water resistant laminate prefered.
Hi we are looking to remove 2 partial walls that separate the living and dining rooms. We want to start as soon as possible, as we are also doing flooring and can't start until these walls come down.
Can you please arrange to provide a quote? My wife is home Mondays and Fridays or I am home evenings after 5pm.
I am working with Ontario Renovates Program, to help our house. We got the acceptance letter from Ontario, and have been given 30 days from June 3, 2015, to hand in 3 estimates or the house will not be livable.
We need free estimates of the following; replacement of roof. Quotes have been between $6300 - $6700.
Upper deck falling apart and not built by code.
Leaking pipe behind lower level wall. Leaking from kitchen sink drain. Wall needs new framing and removal of mouldy insulation. Scald valve for shower, new kitchen faucet, possible new downstairs toilet, and floor tiles.
Tear out upstairs carpet because buckling and bad neglect from previous owner, replace with laminate ?
Ontario Renovates has allocated an amount. We can't go over. I have been trying to get 2-3 estimates for roof, plumbing, wall damage. I'm dealing with a health issue, and mom is too worried and in her 80's. I'm running out of time to get Ontario Renovates Forms filled and return asap.
Thank you for your consideration and assistance.
I just purchased a bungalow in Barrie which desperately needs some curb appeal. Currently has wood siding and a simple roof. Porch overhang with knee braces and integrated into existing roof of bungalow over a single front door with a painted finish and shingles to match roof.

Finish insulating
Drywall
Build partition
Soundproof ceiling
Redo existing bathroom for finish
Install small kitchen area

(All electrical has been run by a master electrician, and flooring and trim will completed by others)
Quote needed to build 2 Huts and 2 Towers as shown in the images attached
The site is flat and open and easy to access to get materials and vehicles etc inside for construction.
These are going to be the first structures built so fences and other projects can be built around them so im looking to get these built in the next 2 weeks but i want to get a quote locked in this week as soon as possible
The hut outside is finished with 100mm split logs and just 2x4 frame work inside and the roof is lined with some cheap treated palings around 150mm in width.
The tower uses large round posts for the main supports with 2x4 framing for the landing and sides lined with some cheap flat paling around 150mm wide like the building roof. the towers also need stairs for access to the landing.
I have a back room addition on my home about 15 feet by 20 feet. I would like to have it pulled down as it is very poorly done and rebuilt. But I would like to have a wood patio built on top of the new one with a door leading into the master bedroom. Bay window to replace the back main floor window thats already there, and a wet bar in the room below the deck since water runs in to the room already. I have lament flooring (enough to fill the room once its done) already.
My max amount to spend on this is 35'000. Would that be enough for a good job? It would be my first time doing somthing like this since its my first home and I dont understand all the ins and outs. But I want it done right and proffesionaly.
Also I would like to have the houses electrical redone as it is up to code but a very sloppy job done. I have about 5000 put away for that too. So all together I have about 40'000 saved for these renos. Any info at all would be helpful...All estimates welcome..Need to have some kind of idea what it will cost.
I have an oversized two car garage already insulated and with vapour barrier that I am considering making into a one bedroom apartment. Looking for quotes I’m doing the job from beginning to end.
Looking for a contractor who can arrange for the entire project including plumbing and electrical. The budget posted for the project is just a guesstimate as I have no idea the cost of this renovation
Also looking on quotes for doing the same thing in the basement which has adequate but not high ceiling height and is currently wide open no drywall and no insulation.
I would like to remove the side door of my house, close in the space, finish inside drywall and outside brick. Brick can be removed from back of garage to match.
Deteriorating concrete steps leading to side door to be removed after door work finished.
Deteriorating concrete steps at front of house to be removed and replaced with a safer alternative.
Additional drywall work inside house to fill holes left be electrical contractor. House is plasterboard.
I'm looking to open up a load bearing wall about 17 feet in length. There is plumbing, electrical and heat ducts that will need to be moved.
The house is approximately 20 years old. The wall is on the main floor of a 2 story house.
I have the drywall removed from one side of the wall to be removed.
We would like to remove a supporting wall on the main floor, to make an open concept living/dining/kitchen area. Also remove the supporting post in the basement to maximize space as well. Trying to figure out if this is at all possible and what an estimated cost would be.
