The grading on one side of my house needs to slope away from the foundation. I think the poor grading is contributing to leaks. My home inspector told me that this needed to be addressed when I bought the place (May 2010), but I've yet to do it.
The side in question is relatively close to the neighbours house (maybe 10-12 feet wall to wall??), so I don't just want to have the water run down towards their house and flood them.
Details:
- House built in 1956
- Poured concrete foundation
- I can provide pictures of the site if you like
- again, the proximity of the neighbours' house means that I will want to bring whatever drainage/grading proposal you, the contractor, and I come up with
I'm looking for quality, lasting, detail-oriented work from a contractor who stands behind her/his work. Aside from price (which will also be a consideration), I also tend towards working with folks who take the time to explain in detail what they are doing and give me options, rather than just assuming that they know best. Hope this makes sense.
Do get in touch. The first thing I will likely ask for is licensing information, if you are insured, etc. I will also want to get a few estimates from different folks.
Hello,
We are looking to have 3 projects completed. we are currently located in Guelph, Ontario Canada.
1) we want to extend our driveway 6 feet in width and 23.3 feet in length. near the beginning of the drive way, between the sidewalk and our front yard, we want to put some stones on the grass as well. all together it is roughly 164.7 SQ feet.
2) we want to build a walk way from the front of the house to the side door entrance on our property. at the same time we want a standard double step at the front of the porch and one at our side door entrance. Currently there is a small flower garden at the front of the porch - which can be removed. the walk way will continue from the front of the house to the side and then all the way to the door. It is roughly 134.5 sq feet.
We want this walk way to then extend from the side door to the backyard (3 ft x 11.5 ft = 34.5 square feet)
3) we want the walk way in the backyard to lead to a patio . the walk way is roughly 4.5 feet by 1.7 feet (7.65 sq feet). we then want a large patio which is roughly 9.2 feet by 26 feet (239 sq feet). we'll also want a step from our patio door to the patio.
We'll need the contractor to be responsible for removing earth, and hauling it away. further, we would like the contractor to purchase material and supply labor. any and all contractors interested should have references in the Guelph. We want to get these projects started ASAP and would love to hear some quotes. We want the projects to be completed by September 2010.
We are looking for a landscaping company or general contractor who can oversee a project for us this fall. There are several components:
1) Converting approximately 1000sqft of garden to grass and regrading it
2) Pouring a concrete driveway (~300sqft) and a pad for a hot tub (~50sqft)
3) Sourcing and installing a shed (~6x14'); will need a cement pad for this as well
4) Moving a set of wooden porch steps from one side of the porch to the other
5) Putting in a path from the driveway to the house by relocating existing stone pavers
6) Installing ~10 feet of privacy fencing
7) Installing a railing on 3 steps
We are hoping to get going on this in the fall and would welcome quotes ASAP.
We need a new fence down both sides of a new home. The back fence was already
done when we moved in.
We will need about 13 posts on each side of the property.
We are having stone work done in the back yard and will need 6" X 6" posts
put in before the stone work can begin and the rest of the fence can be done any
time after that.
