We have grant through Ontario Renovates program. Therefore must be willing to be paid by the region once work is complete. Looking for quote on getting repairs done to our bathroom. Information available on grant and repairs needed to be done include exhaust vent, tub surround replaced and some drywall to be replaced
We take possession on Aug 13th and want to replace the tiled shower on main floor with a tub similar to our old home and are fine with shower curtains. The dimension of the entire bathroom is 58 inches wide by 74 inches deep. The doorswing, toilet, and sink occupy 58 inches wide x 45 inches deep and the shower occupies 58 inches wide by 29 inches deep. Measurements were determined with quick use of a measuring tape so not 100 percent accurate and could be plus or minus a half inch or so. The bathtub will need to be deep and angled at side opposite the faucet to be able to lean back slightly for relaxing similar to our old house. We prefer the shower walls to be an acrylic enclosure for easy cleaning and less chance of leaks, and probably some insets for soap and shampoo bottles would be ideal. The shower head needs to have a hose so it can be moved around but not require any button to be held for water to come out. Not sure if a fan is there or what volume of air it can transfer, will check once we move in. I am happy to do the necessary demolition to remove the current tiling and drywall if needed. There is currently a small window on the wall but since it only goes to the carport there is not really any sense in having it anymore so after removing the window and filling in from the inside and outside as well for insulation, then the shower wall will just cover over it. If you prefer the window is taken care of before you do the bathroom work just let me know and I will have some other contractor do that part beforehand. We expect a consultation is needed for us to look through some bathtub, faucet, and shower enclosure options to finalize the choices for a final and accurate quote. References will be required.
Mom just came home from the hospital, on oxygen and can only use the main floor. Her bathroom needs to be gutted, and made accessible and safe with hand bars.
We'd like to replace tub, sink and vanity, floors and wall tiles.
It's a very small bathroom. We'd like to get the work done as soon as possible.
I have an ensuite which is 5x9". At the far end there is a 36" neo-angle shower and I want to change that to a 60" shower. The drain will need to be moved regardless of whether i choose a center drain or a left hand drain, but the shower fixtures should be in the right place. Currenlty the floor is ceramic tile and i want to keep that so a few tiles will need to be removed. I want a 60x32" white shower pan and a pivoting glass door. which opens at the right end of the unit I will install the ceramic tile on the walls myself so that part in not necessary to quote. I have priced a few of the items i would need, but want to know if you include the shower pan and door in your quote.
I am currently in the process of buying a home, and just had a home inspector look at it today. The main issue he found was that one bathroom wall (the one which faces the exterior) has water damage, and from his estimate, has destroyed the wooden frame and much of the exterior is rather dilapidated. The area is approximately 8x10 and would most likely require new framing, a new window, and finishing the drywall inside and replacing the aluminum siding on the outside.
The home was constructed in 1989, and has had other windows fixed due to water and moisture damage, but this bathroom wall has yet to be done.
If possible, I'd like an online estimate, as we cannot have access to the home again until the papers have been signed. I'd like an estimate however so that I can adjust the purchase price due to the necessary renovations.
Thank you very much!
Kyle
I am buying an acrylic bathtub and it needs to be installed. I have an existing standing shower that needs to be removed before installing the bathtub. The bathtub would be of 60 inches width. I am the owner. This job requires plumbing skills. The persons needs to be professionally certified, insured and having workers insurance. I need the estimate.
I live in a townhouse condo built in the late '70's and the bathtub is old and is chipped in many places. The current tub surround is also old. At the bottom where it meets the tub, the surround will move if pushed, so the caulking often gets little cracks in it, even after being replaced. If I remove the tub surround myself, how much would it cost to replace the tub and put up tiles. The current faucet has decided to start leaking a little bit all day long so it would need replacing as well. I am on a strict budget.
Have a 3 bedroom,1200 square feet condo. Want to change it to a 2 bedroom which will need a supporting beam. Bathroom will need to be expanded, take bath out and install stand up shower, move toilet to another area of bathroom to make access to a 2 sink vanity and make access to bathroom as an ensuite.
My water main has a leak underneath the concrete slab in the basement. This has been confirmed by a plumber and by Kitchener Utilities. The leak is directly underneath my newly installed bathtub - with tile surround. I did all the work myself but don't have the time to get the tub out within 30 days. I only have 30 days to remedy before the water is shut off, as the lost water is unmetered.
I do not want to gut this bathroom, rather I would like the bottom row of tile carefully removed and the tub pulled out so the concrete floor is accessible.
I attached 2 pictures - the first is the "before" - shows the main water line and you can probably figure out what it failed. The second picture is the "after" and shows the tub and the layout of the tile.
I'm looking for estimates from anyone who can get this done within 30 days.
3100 sqft house. Looking to change out all of the carpet on the upstairs level to hardwood. All of the stairs need hardwood too. Also part of the main floor has carpet that will be converted to hardwood. Also thinking about changing the tiles on the main floor foyer and kitchen to something new. The master bathroom I would like to change out the shower and also the tiles.
Looking to complete a sink/toilet basement corner into full bath with shower/toilet/sink.
House is from 1966. Current bathroom space has a sink and toilet. Space is unfinished (no walls/ceiling). Sits in the corner against outside wall which is 3/4ths underground. Has an original basement window at 6ft. Due to limited space and over head plumbing further down the best place for the shower would be against the window wall. We're looking to if a Steam shower is possible as well. We are currently quoting on window replacement so that this project can get started. Looking for someone experience with installation of steam showers.
We are interested in renovating our half-bathroom by removing the cabinet and sink, installing a corner sink and corner shower stall, and possibly moving the toilet if required for this update. Our home is a 30 year old condo townhouse, plumbing for this bathroom is accessible from crawl space. My budget is slightly flexible if that seems unreasonable.
Basement is completely unfinished. It contains a laundry room, space for small bathroom, with shower and living room/bedroom space with room for a walk in closet.
I also need some renovations on the upper floor. Walls painted, and hardwood flooring throughout, including staircases. This is my first time owning a home and I would like to review some estimates.
* We are planning to update our kitchen. We want to reuse our cabinets, update the countertop, change the flooring on the main floor(kitchen, Foyer.
* Add new full washroom on the second floor. Plumbing is available.
* change Flooring on the second floor( 4 bedroom hallway and washroom).
Give a separate estimate for all the above-mentioned projects.

Happy New Year!
Let me introduce ourselves. We are Rob and Brenda, a married couple with a cat and dog enjoying our modest 60+ year old bungelow in south central Kitchener. The house has it's flaws and is showing it's age, but much of it has been renovated and upgraded.
Our existing main bathroom is a tiny thing measuring a mere 40 sq ft (8' x 5'). It has last seen a renovation about 20 years ago. We hope you can help us! We're looking for a skilled, reliable and creative individual that is willing to help design and complete a new, modern and practical washroom for us.
I, Rob, and a novice handyman / renovator ... but I lack the creativity to overcome the hurdles and limited exposure to products to add character to this space.
Here are a few considerations ...
1. The space is sooo tiny for a main bathroom. Clearly 60 years ago washrooms were not a living space.
2. We wish to retain a bathtub and modern shower, getting away from sliding shower doors. There is a window currently in the shower area which is seized from all the exposure to water. We love the natural light this window provides, and if possible, we'd like to retain the ability to open it to provide fresh air and circulation. But, with the constant exposure to the shower, components are rusting, and mildewing.
3. There is an old (dirty and non functional) "jacuzzi tub" under the "cheap" line of fine products. If we could fine something to replace it, easy to maintain and use ... we'd like that but it could be a budget buster.
3. The room isn't square.
4. And ... where can we find some storage space?! We'd like to reduce the clutter of bottles and towel racks and having the need to run across to the other end of the house to get a fresh towel. Someone must have some creativity to think outside the box and see opportunities!
5. We'd like to look at a modern look, bright, practical and easy to clean.
Rob & Brenda
My home is a raised bungalow - 25 years old. The bathroom is original, and definitely needs some improvements. I cannot afford a total gut. I have a small concern about moisture, and was told by a plumber that it is probably just surface moisture or possibly a small leak in the shower stack or water trickling behind the tiles through small cracks in the grout. Whenever someone has a shower, the drywall at the bottom of the wall where the tub ends and the drywall begins - there appears to be a "wrinkling" effect. There is no bubbling, and the drywall is not soft or mushy, just appears wrinkled - that's the best way I know how to describe it. I would like to keep the tub - possibly have it reglazed. The toilet is only about 5 years old. The size of my bathroom is 10' long x 5' wide, with the bath/shower alcove a standard 5 foot tub. The vanity is 7 feet long and in perfect condition - it is a medium oak. I would like to replace the counter top and 2 sinks definitely need replacing as they are rusting. I would like to re-tile the tub/shower alcove and have any moisture damaged drywall replaced. I would also like to have a vent installed that goes through the ceiling and vents out to the roof (since it's a bungalow it is just the attic above the bathroom). We had laminate flooring installed approximately 4 years ago and is still in good condition, but if my budget allows I would like a tile of some kind put in. I am on a very fixed budget. The maximum I can spend is $4000 to $4500 all in. I would appreciate estimates that are based on my needs and my budget - and please use a very sharp pencil! If this budget is too low for what I would like done, please tell me what I can get done for that amount. Thank you very much.
I am looking to remodel the master bath. We have a suken jacuzzi tub that we would like to remove and replace with a large stand up shower. I would like to replace the toilet and vanity as well as the floor and possibly put in a small linen closet if possible. I don't necessarily have specific materials in mind, I don't need super high end but would like nice.
The bathroom is upstairs, the house is approximately 30 years old. The bathroom is appropriately 105 inches by 175 inches.
We currently have a two man Jacuzzi that needs to be removed and a separate shower. We want this replaced with a large (6-8 ft) shower with bench - preferably doorless. There is a two sink vanity that also needs to be replaced with new cabinets and countertop. With the extra space gained by the removal of the tub, we thought about putting in an additional closet. New tile floors will also be required.
There is currently no bathroom in the basement, but there is a rough-in. House is approx 30 years old and many renovations done on the rest of the home.
Need everything from framing, drywall, plumbing, electrical, installation of ceramic flooring. Will be just for the kids, so nothing too fancy or large. A two-piece with the possibility of shower enclosure put in, price dependable.
Currently there is laminate flooring in this space which is used as a workroom/furnace room/storage.
Not a rush job, but would like to begin as soon as possible.
