Looking for a quote to finish off and add a kitchenette to a basement. Carpet is being installed on 20Jul, about 600 sqft but I need sound absorption in a basement ceiling, trim work done throughout. Drop ceiling replaced and extended to rest of basement. The entire interior house painted and all my sins of my own kitchen reno corrected.
Willing to delay carpet install if I can get a contractor in within the next couple weeks.
Basement is nice an cool...
I have a 900-1000 square foot pre-finished basement. Looking for framing, electrical placement, wall amendment, drywall, ceiling, 3 piece bathroom from conception to ABSOLUTE satisfaction. Looking to have 3 areas: an open tv/play area, a bedroom/office with a closet and french doors and a bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Some of the desired features are as follows: potlights, laminate wood "look" flooring, drywall ceiling, a few boxed-shaped coves with recessed lighting.
In order to save on cost, my husband is able to help with some of the work as a right hand man if work is done on weekends. But this is not necessary, just an option.
Recently moved into a 1985-built house in Orleans. Basement is mostly carpeted, with lowered ceiling. A study area, storage area / furnace room, and small storage area / potential bathroom do not have lowered ceilings. Potential bathroom is only so due to some piping in place. Project requirement is to create bathroom, two bedrooms (one from the existing study) and reduced area recreation room in basement. Aim is to provide a safe, finished environment for visitors to stay in, but not to use expensive materials.
My house is just Two years old now and I want to complete my unfinished basement. We need someone to frame a rec room in the basement, to put up drywall, install electric outlets and pot lights. Then to possibly paint and install carpeting (or we can do that part ourselves). Need framing, insulation, drywall, ceiling and floor. Plumbing and electrical needed. Install bathroom and kitchenette. I have an idea of what I want but I am open to suggestions.
This would be to finish a basement in Avalon Area. The house was built in 2003 and is the Captiva Model and basement is currently unfinished. would be for 1 big recroom plus a bathroom(sink, toilet, shower stall). The 2x4s are already done on the perimeter of the basement and already insulated. the rec room area is about 350 square feet. There would be the stairs to finish, the small landing at the bottom of the stairs, a little nook beside the stairs and the bathroom. would need 2 doors put in, one for the storage/furnace room and of course, the bathroom. the basement has a rough in for the bathroom. we're not 100% sure we want a bathroom down there so please provide a quote with and without bathroom. We would like project done by the end of March(approximately). Please let me know what other info is needed. thank you kindly for your time.

It is a 2008 Minto Chelsea model home in Orleans. We are looking to finish about 2/3 of the basement with electrical, walls and celling (mudding and taping- ready to paint). I'm thinking of putting in one wall (about 20 feet long) and possibly 2 doors and 1 closet. This area is about 600 square feet.
I'd like to do the flooring, painting and the trim myself if possible.
As we are still in the planning stage, we are open to any ideas you may have on the space. I'd like to arrange for you to give us a quote and talk about the job at your convenience.
already fully finished basement in 1400 sf home. We want to open up 1 of 2 rooms (2 walls come down) and build another room on the other side of the basement (2 walls go up). This will create a rec room in between the existing bedroom and the new one.
Existing drop ceiling will have to be reconfigured, 2 doors hung, flooring (currently carpet) will have to be redone, electrical moved in room to come out, electrical in new room (outlet and light possibly relocated)
Finish half of basement approx 14x24 ft, existing outer walls are studded out and insulated. One 13ft wall with colonial door to separate the finished basement with the unfinished basement. Suspended ceiling with removable tiles, ie: 2x3 tiles in suspended track.
Walls to be gypoc, plastered and contractor painted. Will require 3 lights, and appropriate number of outlets (electrical code). Finish floor with average quality carpet and underlay.
Two windows exist and will require finishing on the inside, Normal window and door trim required.
Existing stairs require closing in on the back and carpeting.
No additional HVAC required.

Hi
I bought and moved into my new home 2 months ago and I am looking to have some renovation done. Would it please be possible to get a rough estimate for the work I listed below?
I am looking forward to hearing back from someone.
Thank you very much.
Basement:
Perform renovation of basement for a area of approx. 610 s.f.
contruction of wall to separate furnace room, storage room and future powder room and two closets
all walls and ceiling in main room to be finished with drywall, plaster, paint and trim.
4 new doors will be installed for entry of new furnace, powder and storage rooms.
floor installation finish with engineered flooring
installation of approx. 16 potlights with switches and approx. 10 electrical plugs
Bathroom renovation:
construction of new basement powder room of approx 4' x 9' with toilet and vanity
cement floor needs to be broken for plumbing to be properly done
poor new cement floor were needed
perform instalation of electrical oulet, light, switches and ceilling fan, perform plumbing for vanity and toilet
finish walls with drywall, plaster, paint and trim
install ceramic flooring
Depending on prices, i could provide the ceramic flooring
Flooring:
Removal of accessories in main level powder room (old vanity and toilet). The room is small with a small one sink vanity on the left when you enter the room, and the toilet is right next to it.
Perform removal of old ceramic tile flooring and re install new flooring as well as re-install new toilet and vanity (I have already bought a new vanity and I can provide the new tiles as well depending on price)
Flooring:
Perform removal of old ceramic tiles in complete kitchen area for approx 140 sf and reinstall new tiles (i can provide the new ceramic tiles)
Renovation:
Perform installation of trim around entry way to match others on main floor entrance. All together it would be 3 sides for doorways (there are 2 doorways but only 1 side of the first one has been done) and 1 for the arch separating the dining and living room.
I have attached 2 photos to show you how the doorways and arch are. All the side in the living room already have trims however in the dining room, the arch and doorway does not have trim. And the 2 doorways side, facing the corridor do not have trim either. So in all it would need 4 trims.
I am pretty certain I could find more work to be done in the near future but I'd like to start with the above projects.
Insurance needs a quote from a bona-fide contractor to do reconstruction work in my basement. New drywall for bathroom and bathroom closet (2 feet from existing drywall to floor) plus another 15 running feet by 2 feet high living are close to bathroom. Remove and replace about 500 square feet of laminate flooring in basement living area; about 50 square feet cushion flooring to bathroom/closet. New baseboards living area and bathroom and closet. Paint walls and baseboards (no ceilings) 2 coats good quality paint, including entrance stairwell to main floor. Replace commercial carpet in a storage area. The insurance-provided renovation company has done all the remediation work (removing affected drywall and cushion and laminated flooring) but will need toilet and new vanity installed (old ones are gone).

We have a brand new house (January 2012) and want to finish a small part of the basement. We want to install a closet and finish the space underneath the stairs so the furnace doesn't show. Under the stair is partly framed as well as the closet space. There is unsulation installed all the way down (6 inches aren't). We would need electricity and pocket doors. No floors necessary...
Thank you
House is 7 years old - would like to finish the other half of the basement. The "rec room" area is approx 16' x 18.5'. We want a drywall ceiling (not drop ceiling). The bathroom is a basic 3 piece bathroom that will be approx 6' x 6'. The cement floor needs to be drilled for the toilet as there is no rough in.
Our house in Orleans is 3 years old or less, and we would like to finish a part of the basement that has just insulation showing. It's a weird L shape place. We would like in this space to keep a storage area and a hair salon room with one sink and independent entry door. The unfinished space also contains the heat system and water tank, ect€. So we need to also keep a furnace room area in that space.
We also need minor change in the kitchen to fit our fridge that is bigger than the current space available for it.
We are looking for some free estimate on this project and also ideas on how to best divide this space.
Let us know ASAP If it's necessary to look at the home to do the estimate, as it would be possible to look at it Wednesday may 29th.
Hi. I own a detached home in Orleans, and want to finish the basement so it can be rented out. This will require PERMITS, and I need someone to get the permits AND complete the basement.
-A separate entrance would have to be created from the side of the home
-The basement is around 900 to 1000 square feet
Ideally, the finished basement would include:
-one bedroom (around 10' x 10')
-a small 3 piece bathroom (tub, toilet, and a single sink vanity). We have a rough-in for the bathroom.
-a small kitchen (sink, dishwasher, fridge, cook top - NO OVEN as this requires another permit). There is a water connection.
-we need to put the laundry somewhere too
Laminate everywhere
