I am again asking for estimates on a small porch to be built on my 1070 bungalow.
I have been advised that if the top of the step is not higher than four fee that I do not need a permit.
This is the case with my house.. I am looking at getting this done next month if possible as the house needs to be shingled and attic insulated by early October.
Thank you
I have a deck that looks something like this:click here and the slab underneath which connects to the basement is starting to shift, basically the part closest to the house is sinking, while the part where the pillars are is rising. Here are some pictures of our deck:click here
1984 house.
Approx 200 sqft wooden deck with hot tub sunken inside.
Purchased home in March 2013. Deck did not pass city inspection.
Need some one to come out and give a quote to building a new deck or to let us know if it is worth trying to get some one to fix the deck. Not planning on having the work done until the spring, but need some quotes to weigh our options.
Thank you
I require tear down of my existing deck and building of a new deck. The one tier will be a cooking area just off the back door and the second approximately 1/2 storey below as an eating area. The cooking area will be approximately 6'x8' and the eating area 12'x12. Cedar decking and aluminum railing. Permits will be the responsibility of the builder.
Looking to reuse or remove existing 12x12 deck. Would like to replace with 12x12 plus an additional 12x8 deck on new piles. Also needs a 12ft privacy screen facing neighbor and railings around both decks. Not set on PT or low maintained decking yet. Looking to discuss options. I am the homeowner. Permits likely required.
Hi we have a walkout deck that has already been constructed by our house builder however we would like to add stairs to it. I am just starting my research on getting stairs and was wondering if you can provide us a quote for just wood stairs with aluminum rails (no glass). Also how much more would stairs with a landing add to this? And is there a standard width the stairs need to be to be cost effective or can they be any width? We are currently looking to add aluminum glass rails to our deck and each panel is 32' wide.
Walk-out lot, new home, the deck would be about 9-11 feet off the ground.
Require screw piles (those are the most recommended for stability with new homes with ongoing construction surrounding home).
Prefer composite, as all weather/pressure-treated wood requires maintenance and work I am unable to do on a regular basis (sanding, treating, etc - and that generally these types of decks have a life span of 10-20 years before needing extensive work or replacement).
Looking for quotes for sizing for the following:
12x17'
12x24'
We're also curious how much you'd charge for stairs (we figure it best to bring the stairs from the deck towards the front of the house due to the grade to reduce number of steps, etc to save cost).
We're flexible with the right designer in terms of sizing, measurements, etc to find a deck that fits out budget and needs, and are open to discussion and ideas from contractor.
We'd prefer to enjoy our deck for the summer, rather than have it built in the fall, so spring is fine (April-May), but can be flexible on date for the right contractor and price.
Hello,
I am looking at getting a quote for a fence build and deck extension for our new home. we don't move in until the 8th of Aug. We are looking for a wood fence along both side of the backyard with one gate. The rear alright has chain link. I would say the fence can be around 15 feet plus in length. Our new home is a 1500+ sq ft duplex in Starling NW Edmonton.
Thank you
We are looking to hire someone to build an 18'x18' wooden platform that sits on the grass. A 16' diameter pool will be placed on top. The reason we need the platform is because the ground is sloped in two directions. We attempted to build it ourselves but we were only able to level it in one direction. We can take it all apart ourselves but are hoping someone can rebuild the platform so it's level in both directions, using as much of our materials as possible. Please contact me to discuss the material we already have. Thanks!
