1. Paint existing cabinets white - (1 tall pantry cabinet, upper: 2 regular large, 2.5 small Lower: 5 large regular door style cabinets, 1 corner, 3 drawer style cabinets)
2. Remove one full size cabinet, install 2 levels of floating wood shelves
3. Change counter to wood
4. Switch out regular sink to Farmhouse sink
Remove existing cabinets. Install Ikea cabinets. Plumbing would include disconnection of existing plumbing for sink and installation of new kitchen sink and taps and connection of a dishwasher. Note: dishwasher is new. Electrical would include running a dedicated line for the dishwasher from the electrical panel. Note: will need to install a sub-panel as existing panel is full. Existing panel is from the early 80's. Existing panel is located directly below the kitchen. Electrical would also include the changing of a florescent light above the sink to a pendant one. Carpenters would be doing some work around the existing light as it is enclosed and new light would be in the open. Installation of countertop and backsplash is optional. Room size is 14' x 10'. Bulk of cabinets would be installed within a 10' x 7' area. Pantry cabinets would be installed on a separate wall which is currently open with no existing cabinets. Job is for the property owner.

I have a three foot by three foot wall enclosing the kitchen in my condo (ie. the wall is between my kitchen and living room). I'd like to see if the wall is load bearing and then take it down to form an island. The is some wiring that can't be disturbed and would require a column of some sort, but generally I'm just hoping to open it up and add cabinets (underneath) and a countertop.
We are planning a renovation on an original kitchen (home built 1955). We will be removing all cabinetry from the 9' by 7' space. We will also be removing two small walls and and an archway (none of which are load-bearing) to open up the space. We will then be extending cabinetry along one of the side walls, to expand the overall space. The job will require some plumbing and electrical work, as this is original material (galvinized piping, unknown quality of electrical work) that needs to be replaced. We also would like to install a dishwasher. We have priced out the cabinetry and countertop - we will be going with IKEA product - at approximately $5K. We take possession of the new home September 11 - we would like work to get underway early september. The sellers are flexible and we will be able to get into the home to do a more formal review/quote prior to September 11. Thanks.
I want to remove my kitchen cupboards and redesign my kitchen. I plan to use products from Ikea to install. I want to build in a large pantry, put in a new kitchen window, remove a non-load bearing wall between the kitchen and livingroom. I will have to move the telephone plug and rewire and move a kitchen light fixture. I will eventually replace the flooring on the main floor. I need to have the kitchen remodelled by September 01, 2009. I require a detailed and accurate quote for the kitchen renovation, minus the flooring. I also require references.
Hmmm. To start with I'm not the best person to be measuring anything which is why I'm looking for qualified Contractor. What I can tell you is:
Replace kitchen countetops; not sure if going with laminate or granite; replace kitchen faucett and sink; add shut-off valves under the sink. So with this would it make sense to replace the bathroom countertops at the same time?
Replace the linoleum in the kitchen, front entrance and bathrooms.
What I need is a qualified contractor to do a proper estimate and then provide a timeline for starting the project.
Would a contractor be able to provide materials at a better rate than going to Home Depot or Revy?
Installation of new floor, backsplash, spotlight above the sink, switching places of refrigerator and electric stove including installation of OTR Microwave and switching of associated top cabinetry. Addition of countertop and bottom cabinetry beside the current stove location (see included photos). Tiled floor area approximately 98 sq. ft. Budget about $4,000-$6,000 depending on the work to be done.
Need new cupboards and island with granite counters. We want to knock down walls to open up kitchen so need beams installed in the attic to support the rafters. Hopefully we can keep the stove and fridge as they are new stainless steel appliances. We will need a new diswasher as well as new floors. Space in kitchen is about 300 sq feet but guessing when walls come down and have an open concept we are looking at 600 sq feet for floors. The house was built in the 60's and is a bungalow. We really like a couple of ikeas kitchens.
Does anyone have a 3d software so we can see an example of what the room would look like after renovations. Just like they do on the property brothers show?
Looking to have a dishwasher and microwave hood fan installed. Dishwasher will be installed in island, but will require water lines and electrical. All plumbing can be easily accessed from panelled basement ceiling. Current hood fan needs to be removed along with upper cupboards. Dedicated electrical line to microwave and false front placed above microwave to close gap left by cupboards (oak). Also, an electrical switch needs to moved 180 degrees from one wall to the wall on the opposite side (same wall just facing tbe other way). Email contact preferred as I can't always answer my phone.
- NEW FLOOR
- NEW CABINETS - UPPER AND LOWER
- NEW COUNTER TOPS
- NEW KITCHEN WINDOW
- NEW RANGE HOOD
- NEW SINK AND FIXTURES AND PROBABLY NEW PLUMBING
- WILL NEED DEMO AS WELL AS THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID SOME REALLY WEIRD RENOS IN THE KITCHEN
- ELECTRICAL WILL NEED TO BE CHECKED
- KITCHEN IS TINY (HOUSE IS VERY SMALL - MAIN FLOOR IS ONLY 568 SQUAR FEET)
FOR THE ENTIRE KITCHEN RENOVATION I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT TO $10,000 OR LESS.
I am currently overseas and looking to get kitchen renovations done but just looking to relax upon my arrival home. I want to replace both top and bottom countertops in our townhouse kitchen, and on the other side add in another sectional countertop (bottom only) and at the end near the 2nd entrance to the kitchen make an eating bar (that can support 2 stools) Wanting to get a good price quote on how much that would cost on a standard sized (roughly 8x12 kitchen)
Wanting middle of the line cabinets, dark wood color, sturdy with solid hinges. Countertops are no issue, just wood countertops for now is fine as we are getting new countertops installed down the road.
I'm renovating my kitchen and am removing a structural wall and replacing it with a beam roughly 12 feet long. Each side will be supported by a column that runs to the basement. There is no plumbing to move and only minor electrical (maybe 2 outlets and 2 switches). We are also looking at combing 2 closets that have a shared wall into 1 walk-in pantry.
Would like help getting ideas to open up a small bungalow kitchen/living room. Kitchen would include all new cabinets, as well as dinning room cabinetry. Opening up kitchen to dinning roon and living room. Pot lighting, and ventalation. Basement is a remodel. Down to mostly studs now.
House is in Ottwell and Built in 1965, and 1400sq ft.
